07/26 : My Love and I always send each other a sweet message (by phone) before sleeping. I love to write some long (and beautiful) texts. At my grandparents' house, I was sleeping with Lola. And I was busy writing my (long) message when she said : "You are writing a novel or what ? That's enough to write : "Good night" and that's all !" This made me laugh... (she will understand when she grows up)
07/27 : all the tribe (me, my Love and our 5 children (2 for me and 3 for him)) went to the Euro Space Center and to Redu, the "village of the book" as called here, in Belgium. A lovely village full of bookstores.

ERS-2 (COSPAR 1995-021A), was launched on 21 April 1995, on an Ariane 4, from ESA's Guiana Space Centre near Kourou, French Guiana. ERS-2 is ESA's second EO mission, (after ERS-1) and was launched in 1995. Both carry a comprehensive payload including a Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) and a radar altimeter for studying sea surface temperatures and winds; ERS-2 additionally carries a sensor for atmospheric ozone research. When they were launched, the two ERS satellites were the most sophisticated EO spacecraft ever developed and launched in Europe.
In March 2000, a computer and gyro control failure led to the end of ERS-1's mission. The ERS-2 mission has however continued to be a great success, lasting well beyond its original three year design lifetime and overcoming critical on-board problems. Ariane Vulcain 2 rocket boosters - an Ariane 5 space rocket uses two solid boosters (SRBs or EAPs) attached to the sides. Each weighing about 277 tonnes full and delivering a thrust of about 7,080 kN (1,590,000 lbf).
These rocket boosters are part of the Ariane 5's cryogenic main stage. One rocket consists of a large tank 30.5 metres high with two compartments, one for liquid oxygen and one for liquid hydrogen, and a Vulcain 2 engine at the base with a vacuum thrust of 1,390 kN (310,000 lbf). It weighs about 189 tonnes, including 175 tonnes of propellant. After the main cryogenic stage runs out of fuel, it re-enters the atmosphere for an ocean splashdown. At launch they each burn for 130 seconds before being dropped into the ocean without being reused.
