“The best way to treat obstacles is to use them as stepping-stones. Laugh at them, tread on them, and let them lead you to something better.” - Enid Blyton

"I Need You"

When you're feeling like a lover

Nothing really matters anymore

I saw you standing there in the supermarket

With your red dressing falling and your eyes are to the ground

Nothing really matters, nothing really matters when the one you love is gone

You're still in me, baby

I need you

In my heart, I need you

Cause nothing really matters

I'm standing in the doorway

You're walking 'round my place in your red dress, hair hanging down

With your eyes on one, we love the ones we can

Cause nothing really matters when you're standing, standing

I need you, need you

Cause nothing really matters

We follow the line of the palms of our hands

You're standing in the supermarket, nothing, holding hands

In your red dress, falling, falling in, falling in

A long black car is waiting 'round

I will miss you when you're gone

I'll miss you when you're gone away forever

Cause nothing really matters

I thought I knew better, so much better

And I need you

I need you

Cause nothing really matters

On the night we wrecked like a train

Purring cars and pouring rain

Never felt right about, never again

Cause nothing really matters

Nothing really matters anymore, not even today

No matter how hard I try

When you're standing in the aisle, and no, baby

Nothing, nothing, nothing

I need, I need, I need you

I need you

I need you

Just breathe, just breathe

I need you

This is known as the “eternal light” or “sanctuary

lamp.” This candle is always lit. The candle is symbolic of the continual presence of God.

9/11 -We will never forget all sacrifices of first responders, families and loved ones of those who perished at the hands of savages and still bear the deeply rooted emotional & physical scars.

And as CENTCOM Commander Gen. Kenneth McKenzie praised the Taliban for being "helpful, useful, businesslike and pragmatic" during the evacuation where 13 US military personnel died & hundreds were critically wounded on August 26th; let us remember it was Taliban who sheltered al Qaedas Osama bin Laden & his henchmen after the attack of 9/11 of course, till they slithered over to Pakistan to hide.

Where were you...

Lyrics by Alan Jackson

"Where were you when the world stopped turnin' that September day? Were you in the yard with your wife and children Or workin' on some stage in L.A.?

Did you stand there in shock at the sight of that black smoke

Risin' against that blue sky? Did you shout out in anger, in fear for your neighbor Or did you just sit down and cry?

Did you weep for the children, they lost their dear loved ones

Pray for the ones who don't know?

Did you rejoice for the people who walked from the rubble

And sob for the ones left below? Did you burst out with pride for the red, white, and blue And the heroes who died just doin' what they do?

Did you look up to heaven for some kind of answer and look at yourself and what really matters?

I'm just a singer of simple songs, I'm not a real political man

I watch CNN, but I'm not sure I can tell you the diff'rence in Iraq and Iran. But I know Jesus and I talk to God

And I remember this from when I was young,

Faith, hope, and love are some good things He gave us

And the greatest is love

Where were you when the world stopped turnin' that September day? Teachin' a class full of innocent children

Or drivin' down some cold interstate? Did you feel guilty 'cause you're a survivor? In a crowded room did you feel alone? Did you call up your mother and tell her you love her?

Did you dust off that Bible at home?

Did you open your eyes and hope it never happened

Close your eyes and not go to sleep? Did you notice the sunset for the first time in ages and speak to some stranger on the street? Did you lay down at night and think of tomorrow, g o out and buy you a gun? Did you turn off that violent old movie you're watchin' And turn on I Love Lucy reruns?

Did you go to a church and hold hands with some strangers

Stand in line to give your own blood? Did you just stay home and cling tight to your family & Thank God you had somebody to love"

A refuge for the coming night

A future of eternal light

No one gets to their heaven without a fight.

Originally I only wanted to take some portraits of the wonderful purple

wisteria flowers......when I discovered its leaves through my macrolens!

They are so soft 'n hairy!

This photograph is not just light painting, sea, moon and stars.

It is memory. It is love that never disappears.

That small silhouette by the sea is you, Sury…

because you always walked with me and you sometimes got me into trouble…but they were our troubles,

and that is why they were perfect.

And that golden sphere is your light, still shining in my nights,

still warming my silence.

Now you run among the stars, but every time I look at the sea,

I know you are still here. In the moon. In the light. In my heart. 🐾✨

With all my ❤️ I thank you for your ⭐ or 💬 or just for 👀 it.

India Gate, the Memorial for the Unknown Soldier at New Delhi is a goldmine for photographers. (Captain Suresh said this earlier) The canopy which once housed the statue of King Geoge V is seen against the glorioous sunrise!

Dark and emptied and deathlike

Full of fear and shadows

I went to the Sun King for help

He was too bright for me to look at

His radiance shone upon my iniquity

So in my shadow fright I stuttered a plea

That I might be soaked in everlasting Light

His laughter made me tremble

Echoing around the Universe

His sound almost shattered me

Finally he leaned my way

He explained that even he is a shadow

Though a very bright one

We play at being kings and children of kings

That we may lose and find ourselves in variations

That we may detach and witness every story

In every lump of coal a diamond waits

In every dark and spinning moon such radiance

In every black and brooding hour a promise lingers

This Light is ever with us

Regardless if we feel it or not

So now I can proclaim that I AM a child of the Sun

and shadows are not real

*Sometimes after long periods of silence and brooding, a new light shines. A new understanding emerges. We cannot explain it but it is there. After such excruciating heaviness and self-judgement ,we realize the inevitability of this change. Again and again, the letting go to this process reveals the mystery and the sublime joy of life. The brooding moon is overwhelmed with light again. The sun finds its joy in this. Both are subject to a greater love.

Ad Note (October 2015):

One day the sun admitted

I am just a shadow.

I wish I could show you

the Infinite Incandescence

that has cast my brilliant image.

I wish I could show you

when you are lonely or in darkness

the astonishing Light

of your own Being.

~ Hafiz

"Designed by high-profile architect Thomas Hastings, who built New York City's Public Library at Fifth Avenue and 42nd Street, and sculptor Paul Wayland Bartlett, the flagstaff project received a $25,000 commission from department store heir and PGA founder Rodman Wanamaker. The original Oregon pine pole was situated a top a base featuring a Milford pink granite ornamented bronze cap with images of rams heads and garlands. For a number of years, the light was serviced every 28 days, wrote The New York Times on November 14, 1999, and "it was dimmed intentionally in a blackout drill in 1942, then went dark for several days in 1957 because of a defective wire." After falling into disrepair, the memorial was removed in 1973, to be replaced with a steel flagpole in 1976.

In September 2002, the Eternal Light Star received an electrical update with assistance from the Department of Parks & Recreation, Con Edison, and Sentry Electric Corp., according to the Madison Square Park Conservancy website. The implementation of LED-based lighting, reported Electrical Construction & Maintenance magazine on December 9, 2002, would then support the star’s “unique and continuous lighting requirements” to honor the individuals who fought for America's freedom."

.... In Judaism, the sanctuary lamp is known by its Hebrew name, 'ner tamid' (Hebrew: נֵר תָּמִיד), which is usually translated as "eternal flame" or "eternal light". Hanging or standing in front of the ark in every Jewish synagogue, it is meant to represent the menorah of the Temple in Jerusalem as well as the continuously burning fire on the altar of burnt offerings in front of the Temple. It also symbolizes God's eternal presence and is therefore never extinguished ....

So you are like the eternal light

I can't stop yourself

You are the wind of this scent

On this hill you can try your freedom

These are some of the biggest pigeons I've ever seen. A few look like bowling balls with feathers. I'm surprised they can fly.
