As part of the International Day of Peace, you had the chance to take part in an artist residency at the Château Frontenac. Tell me about this project and the work you created.
I was invited by MASSIVart to create a work on a globe where I represented the 1943 meeting of Churchill, Roosevelt and Mackenzie King to end the Second World War. This meeting was held at the Château Frontenac and to highlight this event, I painted a utopian scene where I integrated French heraldic symbols (the griffins and the fleur-de-lys) and English (the lions and the rose) that can be found in certain corners of the Château. It was truly a surreal experience to spend a few days making art in Monsieur Churchill's suite and exploring the mythical Chateau Frontenac!
Audrey hepburn say"s: " Think pink!
who cares if the new look has no bust.
Now, I wouldn't presume to tell a woman
what a woman gotta think,
But tell her if she's gotta think: think pink”! .... ;P

Ordered by a loving mum for her sweet 18 yr old daughter's bday. Was a last min order but I'm glad how it turned out.

A series of interactions with Kinect's infrared structured light
With these images I was exploring the unique photographic possibilities presented by using a Microsoft Kinect as a light source. The Kinect - an inexpensive videogame peripheral - projects a pattern of infrared dots known as "structured light". Invisible to the eye, this pattern can be captured using an infrared camera. The Kinect uses the deformation of this dot pattern to derive 3D information about its subjects (an ability which has already spawned an explosion of incredible digital art).
As a photographer I am most interested in the nature and quality of light: how light behaves in the physical world, and how it interacts with and affects the subjects that it illuminates. For this shoot my models and I were essentially working blind, with the results visible only after each image was captured. Together, we explored the unique physicality of structured light, finding our way in the darkness by touch and intuition. Dancing with invisible light.
