First this morning appeared to have rather dull light conditions. I wanted to give up already when I noticed right quickly withdrawing light spots. Luckily the camera was still on the stand so that it only had to create a bracketing. This was the best picture of the morning and an all time favorite of mine.
Zunächst schien dieser Morgen ziemlich langweilige Lichtbedingungen aufzuweisen. Ich wollte bereits aufgeben, als ich von rechts schnell ziehende Lichtspots bemerkte. Zum Glück war die Kamera noch auf dem Stativ, so dass es nur galt, eine Belichtungsreihe zu erstellen. Dieses war das beste Bild dieses Morgens, ein Allzeit-Favorit von mir.

In this uncomfortable weather, it is time to check the hard drives and create new backups.
In doing so, I always come across old pictures, which in my opinion are worth being shown.
Sadly, this old willow has not existed for some years, since it became the victim of a storm.
The picture was taken on a cold December day, as I think at the right time ;-)
Bei diesem ungemütlichen Wetter ist Zeit, die Festplatten zu überprüfen und neue Datensicherungen zu erstellen.
Dabei fallen mir immer wieder alte Bilder auf, die es in meinen Augen wert sind, gezeigt zu werden.
Diese alte Weide existiert leider bereits einige Jahre nicht mehr, seit sie das Opfer eines Sturmes geworden ist.
Das Bild entstand an einem kalten Dezembertag, wie ich finde zur richtigen Zeit;-)

Already when I started to make photos, here in the Elbe Sandstone Mountains, I received messages that some of the photographs would awake memories to the painting "Wanderer above the sea of fog" by Caspar David Friedrich. The painting is, by the way, very beautiful, was made in 1818 and is combining some of the mountains from this region.
Since a while now I've got the wish to create my own interpretation of that scenery. Off course I know, that I'm far way of beeing the first who's got that idea but this is not bothering me. The photo is a present I create for myself.
The theme is fiting perfect today, because I will be on a "wandering" during the next week. Where, You will see afterwards.

Bereits als ich angefangen habe hier im Elbsandsteingebirge zu fotografieren erhielt ich Nachrichten, dass manche Fotos Erinnerungen an das Gemälde "Wanderer über dem Nebelmeer" von Caspar David Friedrich wecken würde. Das Gemälde sieht übrigens grandios aus , wurde 1818 gemalt und kombiniert mehrere Berge aus dieser Region hier.
Schon lange habe ich den Wunsch meine eigene Interpretation dieser Szene zu erstellen. Ich weiß natürlich, dass ich damit bei weitem nicht der erste bin der diese Idee hat, doch das stört mich nicht. Das Bild ist ein Geschenk an mich selbst.
Das Motiv passt heute sehr gut, denn ich bin für eine Woche auf "Wanderschaft". Wohin, das seht ihr dann hinterher.

We are back in the Valley of the Nuns (Curral das Freiras). The rainbow has of course disappeared in the meantime. Instead, we now see a beautiful play of light and shadow in the valley, which is constantly changing. And since the rain has stopped we can even see the exit of the valley in the background.
In order to be able to capture all this splendor, I decided to create a parorama from five upright photos. Despite the full format and wide angle, all this wouldn't have fitted in a single frame.
I love zooming into the photo and exploring the details of the scene. Such as the small gardens with their huts on the hillsides. Or the abyss road, which you can find on the rocky slope in the foreground on the right. It doesn't inspire much confidence. But I've gotten used to a lot in this regard.
Wir sind zurück im Tal der Nonnen (Curral das Freiras). Der Regenbogen ist zwischenzeitlich natürlich verschwunden. Dafür sehen wir jetzt im Tal ein wunderschönes Spiel von Licht und Schatten welches sich ununterbrochen verändert. Und da der Regen aufgehört hat können wir jetzt sogar im Hintergrund den Ausgang des Tales erkennen.
Um diese ganze Pracht festhalten zu können habe ich mich entschieden hier ein Parorama aus fünf hochkant Fotos zu erstellen. Trotz Vollformat und Weitwinkel hätte das alles nicht aufs Bild gepasst.
Ich liebe es in das Foto hinein zu zoomen und die Details der Szene zu erkunden. Wie zum Beispiel die kleinen Gärten mit ihren Hütten an den Berhängen. Oder die Strasse am Abgrund, die ihr an dem Felshang rechts im Vordergrund findet. Sehr vertrauenserweckend ist die nicht. Doch ich bin je inzwischen in dieser Hinsicht schon einiges gewohnt.

Mit den magnetischen Bauplatten in geometrischen Grundformen lassen sich kreative Bauwerke erstellen. Ok, ich bin hier gerade noch bei einfachen Bauwerken aber dafür bunt.

MINOLTA 35mm f/2.8 Shift CA at f/4.5 (8 mm down)
One of my first photo sessions this year. It was a beautiful winter day and the late afternoon light was lovely. I love this little lake with its beautiful old trees and little bridge to a little island in the middle of the lake. An idyllic place in every season.
And since I bought a panorama head from Novoflex (VR system or nodal point adapter) for Christmas, it was a nice opportunity to test it in practice. With this panorama head I can now also create any multi-line panoramas. In this case I have set up the VR system for my Sony ILCE-7RM4 with the
Zeiss Batis 2.8/18 and stitched 5 portrait photos. The advantage of this head is that the camera rotates around the nodal point and no longer around the attachment point of the camera to the tripod head. This means that even photos with a close-up foreground can be stitched together without any problems. In terms of software, I used the new panorama function in Capture ONE 22. It's certainly not perfect in the first version and it still lacks some options that I know from an external tool, but the software has a huge advantage - I can now create panorama photos with the RAW files directly in Capture One and I can edit the resulting DNG file like a single RAW file and then export the finished result as tiff or jpg. This means I have one interface less in the workflow...
Eine meiner ersten Fotosessions in diesem Jahr. Es war ein wunderschöner Wintertag und das Licht am späten Nachmittag war sehr schön. Ich liebe diesen kleinen See mit seinen schönen alten Bäumen und der kleinen Brücke zu einer kleinen Insel in der Mitte des Sees. Ein idyllischer Ort zu jeder Jahreszeit.
Und da ich mir zu Weihnachten einen Panoramakopf von Novoflex (VR System oder Nodalpunktadapter) zugelegt hatte, war es eine schöne Gelegenheit, diesen in der Praxis zu testen. Mit diesem Panoramakopf kann ich jetzt auch beliebige mehrzeilige Panoramen erstellen. In diesem Fall habe ich das VR-System für meine Sony ILCE-7RM4 mit dem
Zeiss Batis 2.8/18 eingerichtet und 5 Hochformatfotos zusammengesetzt. Der Vorteil dieses Kopfes ist es, dass die Kamera sich damit um den Nodalpunkt und nicht mehr um den Befestigungspunkt der Kamera mit dem Stativkopf dreht. Somit lassen sich auch Fotos mit nahem Vordergrund problemlos zusammenfügen. Softwaremäßig habe ich dazu die neue Panoramafunktion in Capture ONE 22 genutzt. Die ist sicherlich in der ersten Version noch nicht perfekt und es fehlen noch einige Optionen, die ich von einem externen Tool kenne, aber ein riesiger Vorteil hat die Software - ich kann jetzt direkt in Capture One Panoramafotos mit den RAW-Dateien erzeugen und die resultierende DNG-Datei wie eine einzelne RAW-Datei bearbeiten und dann das fertige Ergebnis als tiff oder jpg exportieren. Damit habe ich im Workflow wieder eine Schnittstelle weniger...
Seeing this flock of geese made me think of the turkey problem that N. Taleb presents in his book "Antifragility".
Let's say you are a turkey who is generating predictions about the future quality of life for your flock based on historical data. All time long, you and the other turkeys are fed well every day and have plenty of room to roam as you like. As time goes on, you become more confident in predicting that tomorrow and the next days will be similarly favorable. But you don't know that Thanksgiving is just around the corner. The key point is that whether your historical record consists of a week or a year has no bearing on your more dismal future.
I hope the geese don't know about their fate....
Als ich diese Gänseschar sah, musste ich an das Truthahnproblem denken, dass N. Taleb in seinem Buch "Antifragilität" vorstellt.
Nehmen wir an, Sie sind ein Truthahn, dessen Aufgabe es ist, auf der Grundlage historischer Daten Prognosen für die zukünftige Lebensqualität Ihrer Herde zu erstellen. Seit Sie Ihre Aufzeichnungen begonnen haben, werden Sie und die anderen Truthähne jeden Tag gut gefüttert und haben reichlich Platz, um sich in Ruhe zu bewegen. Mit der Zeit werden Sie immer zuversichtlicher in Ihren Prognosen, dass der morgige Tag ähnlich günstig sein wird, und der nächste Tag und der übernächste. Aber was Sie und die anderen Truthähne nicht wissen, ist, dass Thanksgiving vor der Tür steht. Der entscheidende Punkt ist, dass die Tatsache, ob Ihre historische Bilanz aus einer Woche oder einem Jahr besteht, keinen Einfluss auf Ihre eher düstere Zukunft hat.

Auf Umwegen zur Foto-Collage: Mit der Digicam aufgenommene und auf dem Laptop gespeicherte Fotos werden auf das Smartphone übertragen. Hier kann ich einfache Collagen von 2-9 Fotos erstellen. Dann wieder zurück auf's Laptop und einstellen auf Flickr.

It is a new version of this panorama. I was not quite satisfied with the reflection in the center of the image, which was disturbed by a small wave. So i skipped one of many pics for the panorama to avoid the restless water.
Dies ist eine neue Version des Panoramas, da ich ich mit der SPiegelung in der Bildmitte nicht ganz zufrieden war. Eine kleine Welle störte. Ich habe beim erstellen des Panos ein Bild ausgelassen auf dem das Wasser so unruhig war.
It was a wonderful night at Lake Barmsee and I really wanted to try my new 1.8/14mm for a Milky Way photograph - quite new territory for me, but very exciting. And of course it's even more fun with two people. So we waited until after 11 p.m. until the Milky Way showed up. And because it was so beautiful, I then tried to create my first timelapse video. Unfortunately, it was over after just under an hour because dense clouds moved in front of the Milky Way....
Michstraße am Barmsee - eine interessante Erfahrung
Es war eine wunderbare Nacht am Barmsee und ich wollte unbedingt mein neues 1,8/ 14 mm für eine Milchstraßenaufnahme ausprobieren - ziemliches Neuland für mich, aber sehr spannend. Und zu zweit macht das Ganze natürlich auch noch mehr Spaß. So warteten wir bis nach 23 Uhr bis die Milchstraße sich dann zeigte. Und weil es so schön war, habe ich dann auch versucht, mein erstes Timelapse-Video zu erstellen. Leider war dann nach einer knappen Stunde Schluß, weil dichte Wolken vor die Milchstraße zogen....

Since I'm now stranded at Frankfurt Airport for the next four hours due to a late arrival from Bangkok, I can use the time to create a post.
And since I just realized that today is Monday, what could be better than a Monday flower greeting.
This comes from Thailand again and shows a beautiful fragrant frangipani flower.
Since this is a flowering tree and the flowers were all higher than my nose could reach, I couldn't verify that it was "fragrant".
Based on this beautiful flower, which I saw in many places in Thailand, I wish you a week full of beauty and elegance. Let's see if this can be realized.
Da ich, wegen einer verspäteten An kunft aus Bangkok nun für die nächsten vier Stunden am Frankfurter Flughafen gestrandet bin, kann ich ja die Zeit nutzen, um einen Post zu erstellen.
Und da ich gerade festgestellt habe, dass heute Montag ist, was liegt dann näher als ein montäglicher Blumengruß.
Dieser stammt wieder auf Thailand und zeigt eine wunderschöne duftende Frangipani Blüte.
Da es sich hier um einen blühenden Baum handelt und die Blüten alle höher waren als ich mit meiner Nase hin gelange, konnte ich das mit dem "duftend" nicht nachprüfen.
In Anlehnung an diese wunderschöne Blüte, die ich in Thailand übrigens an vielen Orten gesehen habe, wünsche ich Euch eine Woche voller Schönheit und Eleganz. Mal sehen, ob sich das realisieren lässt.

Special views, like this view from the outskirts of the town Sebnitz in the Elbe Sandstone Mountains towards mount Lilienstein and Königstein Fortress, often deserve more than just one photo for me.
In such cases, I usually try to create at least one composition in portrait format (which you already saw last week) and then another one in wide format. After all, I always need material for the next calendar.
This photo here has a very good chance of ending up in the next calendar, because these bright and rich colors are simply fascinating. I would love to see it printed out.
Besondere Ausblicke, wie dieser Blick vom Stadtrand von Sebnitz im Elbsandsteingebirge in Richtung Lilienstein und der Festung Königstein, verdienen bei mir häufig mehr als nur ein Foto.
Meisst versuche ich in solchen Fällen mindestens eine Komposition im Hochformat zu erstellen (die Ihr schon letzte Woche gesehen habt) und dann noch eine im Breitformat. Denn schließlich brauche ich ja auch immer Material für den nächsten Kalender.
Dieses Foto hier hat sehr gute Chancen darauf, im nächsten Kalender zu landen, denn diese leuchtenden und satten Farben sind einfach faszinierend. Das würde ich gern auch einmal ausgedruckt sehen.
Yesterday's evening walk took me to the Dresden Heath again. And although this forest area is not particularly large and I have been here countless times, I have never passed this corner. Which in turn means that I have to go back there to take a closer look.
While I was hiking through the forest with the aim of making a video about mosses and lichens, the evening sun suddenly drew my attention to a scene that I would have otherwise just walked past.
Luckily, I was of course also prepared to take photos and so I devoted myself to this scene for 15 minutes before finally deciding on this composition.
And even though this is the only photo I brought home (along with the planned video, which you can watch in my Facebook gallery), I'm very happy that I didn't miss it. Even though I had to pay a heavy blood toll on the mosquito world for the trip (which I noticed this morning).
Der gestrige Abendspaziergang führte mich mal wieder in die Dresdner Heide. Und obwohl dieses Waldgebiet nicht übermäßig groß ist und ich schon unzählige Male hier unterwegs war, bin ich in dieser Ecke hier noch nie vorbei gekommen. Was im Umkehrschluß bedeutet, dass ich da nochmals hin muss um mir das genauer anzusehen.
Während ich da so durch den Wald wanderte, mit dem Ziel ein Video über Moose und Flechten zu erstellen, machte mich plötzlich die Abendsonne auf eine Szene aufmerksam, an der ich wohl sonst einfach vorbei gelaufen bin.
Zum Glück war ich natürlich auch auf Fotografieren vorbereitet und so widmete ich mich erst einmal 15 Minuten lang dieser Szene um mich schlußendlich für diese Komposition zu entscheiden.
Und auch, wenn dies das einzige Foto ist, was ich mit nach Hause gebracht habe (zusammen mit dem geplanten Video, was Ihr Euch in meiner Facebook Galerie ansehen könnt), bin ich das sehr glücklich darüber, dass mir das nicht entgangen ist. Auch wenn ich für die Ausflug eine gehörigen Blutzoll an die Mückenwelt entrichten durfte (was mir heute früh aufgefallen ist).

Ich war öfters unterwegs in Deutschland auf der Suche nach Zimmerstraßen. Die aufgefundenen habe ich fotografiert für meine Sammlung und für Sie.
I was often in Germany in search of Zimmerstraße. I have photographed the found for my collection and for you.
Hier hatte ich die Idee, eine Wandgestaltung zu erstellen, auf der ein Gemälde von mir zu sehen ist: ich drücke meine Hände in meine Farbpalette.
Here I had the idea to create a wall design on which a painting of me can be seen: I press my hands into my color palette.

My series from Budapest is coming to an end. But before we head back down into the hustle and bustle of the city, let's treat ourselves to one last look from up here.
The sunrise at the Fisherman's Bastion was a very special one for me and, as you can probably see in the picture (a little below my position on the right), not just for me. The number of bridal couples who came together here with professional photographers on a single morning (I estimate 6 or 7, just in the short time I was here) suggests that it is very popular. Which isn't surprising given this backdrop and this incredible view.
When looking for a suitable composition for an overall view, I always had difficulty with balance. For this reason, I decided to create a panorama here so that one of the towers can be seen on each side of the photo.
In the background, embedded in the city, you can see two of the buildings that I have been confronting you with for a while now. On the left side, directly on the bank of the Danube, is the Parliament and a little further to the right is the dome of St. Stephen's Basilica.
Unfortunately, the Chain Bridge cannot be seen from here, but we'll pay special attention to it again tomorrow.
Meine Serie aus Budapest nähert sich dem Ende. Doch bevor wir uns noch einmal nach unten ins Getümmel der Stadt begeben, gönnen wir uns noch einen letzten Blick von hier oben.
Der Sonnenaufgang auf der Fischerbastei war ein ganz besonderer für mich und wie Ihr auf dem Bild vielleicht erkennen könnt (etwas unterhalb von meiner Position auf der rechten Seite) nicht nur für mich. Die Anzahl der Brautpaare, die hier mit professioneller fotogarfischer Begleitung an einem einzigen Morgen zusammen gekommen sind (ich schätze 6 oder 7 und das allein in der kurzen Zeit, die ich hier war) lässt auf eine sehr hohe Beliebtheit schließen. Was bei dieser Kulisse und diesem wahnsinns Ausblick ja auch kein Wunder ist.
Bei der Suche nach einer geeigneten Komposition für einen Gesamtüberblick hatte ich immer Schwierigkeiten mit der Balance. Aus diesem Grund habe ich mich dann entschieden hier ein Panorama zu erstellen, damit am Ende auf jeder Seite des Fotos einer der Türme zu sehen ist.
Im Hintergrund, eingebettet in die Stadt seht Ihr übrigens zwei der Bauwerke, mit denen ich Euch jetzt schon eine Weile konfrontiere. Auf der linken Seite, direkt am Donauufer, das Parlament und etwas weiter rechts die Kuppel der St.-Stephans Basilika.
Die Kettenbrücke ist von hier aus leider nicht zu sehen, doch der widmen wir uns dann morgen nochmal besonders.

IGE Werrabahn Eisenach e.V. organiseerde van 21 tot en met 23 oktober 2021 het evenement ‘Plandampf 30+’. De naam slaat op het voor 2020 voorziene evenement ter herdenking van 30 jaar Plandampf in Duitsland. Door de Covid-19 pandemie kon dit geen doorgang vinden en werd een jaar uitgesteld. Op de Werrabahn van Eisenach naar Meiningen reden de loc’s 41 1144 en 52 1360 van IGE Werrabahn en loc 44 2546 van het Bayerische Eisenbahnmuseum. Op zaterdag werd ook gereden tussen Arnstadt en Meiningen en deed loc 120 274 van DB Museum Nürnberg (uitgeleend aan het Bahnbetriebswerk Arnstadt historisch e.V.) mee. Tevens hadden we een ontmoeting met loc 50 3501 van het Dampflokwerk Meiningen. In de vroege ochtend van 23 oktober 2021 rijdt loc 120 274 bij Wasungen met trein 41 van Eisenach via Meiningen naar Arnstadt Hbf. Deze foto is nog geen 13 minuten na de vorige in het 10 kilometer noordelijke liggende Wernshausen gemaakt. We zagen vanaf de Bundesstraße 19 dat de trein nog niet voorbij was, maar wel in aantocht. We bedachten ons geen moment: bij de overweg er uit en meteen een foto maken. De voordelen van de Nikon Z 50 systeemcamera bewezen zich direct. Doordat je meteen ziet hoe het wordt hoefde er niet eerst licht te worden gemeten en instellingen en diafragma gecontroleerd, maar meteen je foto maken.
IGE Werrabahn Eisenach e.V. organisierte vom 21. bis zum einschließlich den 23. Oktober 2021 die Veranstaltung ‘Plandampf 30+’. Den Namen bezog sich auf die für 2020 geplante Veranstaltung zur Gedächtnis der 30 Jahre Existenz des Plandampfes in Deutschland. Wegen der Covid-19 Pandemie konnte dieses nicht stattfinden und wurde ein Jahn verschoben. Auf der Werrabahn von Eisenach nach Meiningen fuhren die Lokomotiven 41 1144 und 52 1360 der IGE Werrabahn und die Lok 44 2546 des Bayerischen Eisenbahnmuseums. Am Samstag wurde auch zwischen Arnstadt en Meiningen gefahren und machte die Lok 120 274 von DB Museum Nürnberg (Leihgabe am Bahnbetriebswerk Arnstadt historisch e.V.) mit. Darüber hinaus gab es ein Treffen mit der Lok 50 3501 des Dampflokwerkes Meiningen. Im frühen Morgen des 23. Oktober 2021 fährt die Lok 120 274 bei Wasungen mit dem Zug 41 von Eisenach über Meiningen nach Arnstadt Hbf. Dieses Bild ist noch keine 13 minuten nach dem Vorigen im 10 Kilometer nördliches liegende Wernshausen gemacht worden. Von der Bundesstraße 19 sahen wir dass den Zug noch nicht vorbei gefahren war, aber sich schon näherte. Wir bedachten uns kein Moment: bei der Schranke aus dem Auto raus und direkt ein Bild erstellen. Die Vorteile der Nikon Z 50 Systemcamera erwiesen sich direkt. Weil man direkt sieht was man bekommt, braucht nicht erst licht gemessen zu werden und die Einstellungen und Blenden kontrolliert, aber konnte sofort das Bild erstellt werden.

Auf Umwegen zur Foto-Collage: Mit der Digicam aufgenommene und auf dem Laptop gespeicherte Fotos werden auf das Smartphone übertragen. Hier kann ich einfache Collagen von 2-9 Fotos erstellen. Dann wieder zurück auf's Laptop und einstellen auf Flickr.

Es ist fast schon Tradition für unsere Freunde zusammen einen Kalender zu Weihnachten und Neujahr zu erstellen.
Da muss meine Frau jedes Mal großen Druck aufbauen, denn kreativ mag ich nur ohne Vorgaben sein.
Anyway, der Aktion verdankt ihr jetzt dieses Foto, weil die beste Frau von allen auch nach Schwarzweißfotos verlangte.

This is an exponate in the Museum Prototype Hamburg. Wonderful museum about creating and building race cares with special Exponate.
Dies ist ein Exponat im Museum Prototyp Hamburg. Wunderbares Museum über das Erstellen und Bauen von Rennwagen mit speziellem Exponate.
Von den Sternmieren kann ich gar nicht genug bekommen, Die Architektur der gesamten Pflanze und insbesondere der Blüten fasziniert mich. Dieses sehr "damenhaft" wirkende Exemplar habe ich mit einer Canon EOS M5 aufgenommen. Um eine Schärfenreihe erstellen zu können, habe ich mich eines Helicon FB tubes bedient. Dass funktioniert sehr gut.
I can't get enough of stitchworts. The architecture of the entire plant, and especially the flowers, fascinates me. I shot this very "ladylike" specimen with a Canon EOS M5. To create a series of sharp focus points, I used a Helicon FB tube. It works very well.
Der Monheimer Geysir von Künstler Thomas Stricker ist ein von Hand geschaffener künstlicher Gysir, dem es gelingt, den sonst scheinbar ruhelos dahinfließenden Autoverkehr minutenweise zum Erliegen zu bringen. Seine von immer stärker aufsteigenden Nebelschwaden angekündigte und dann schließlich bis zu zwölf Meter hoch aufschießende Wassersäule fasziniert in ihren stetig wechselnden skulpturalen Formen. Die Ausbrüche erscheinen chaotisch, wild und unvorhersehbar sind es aber nicht.
Wie lange der Monheimer Geysir bis zum nächsten Mal ruht? Niemand weiß es! Zwischen den Ausbrüchen liegen manchmal Tage, oft Wochen oder sogar Monate. Denn immer erst wenn 64 Sonnenstunden gesammelt sind, wird es rund um die mystisch umnebelte Insel im Kreisverkehr am Rhein langsam wieder aktiver. Nun lässt sich eine konkretere, doch immer noch vage, Prognose erstellen. Jetzt müssen Wind und Temperatur noch passen, damit die nächste vierstündige Ausbruchsphase Computer gesteuert erfolgen kann.

The Monheim Geyser by artist Thomas Stricker is a hand-made artificial gyser that succeeds in bringing the otherwise seemingly restless car traffic to a standstill by the minute. Its column of water, announced by increasingly rising clouds of fog and then finally shooting up to a height of twelve meters, fascinates in its constantly changing sculptural forms. The outbursts appear chaotic, but they are not wild and unpredictable.
How long will the Monheim geyser rest until the next time? Nobody knows! There are sometimes days, often weeks or even months between outbreaks. Because only when 64 hours of sunshine have been collected does it slowly become more active again around the mystically fogged island in the roundabout on the Rhine. Walbeobachtung nahe Hermanus
Unser kleines Schiff rast durch und über die aufgewühlte See. Bei diesem Seegang ein vernünftiges Bild bzw. Film zu erstellen scheint mir in diesem Moment unvorstellbar.
Mit einer Hand hältst du dich irgendwo fest, mit der anderen Fotoapparat oder Kamera, welche ja auch irgendwie bedient werden müssen und mit den Augen schaust du aufs Wasser wo auch nach einiger Zeit auch schon die Wale( 20-30 Meter entfernt) neben unserem Boot auf- und abtauchen. Taucht einer auf und hast du zufällig Halt gefunden und drückst auf den Auslöser - ist er auch schon wieder weg
OMG - na ja - ich habe trotzdem ne Menge Bilder (sogar ein paar akzeptable) gemacht und (zu-) viele nachfolgend gepostet.
Wenn's zu viel wird einfach weiterblättern.
Es war schon ein kleines , stressiges aber absolut interessantes Abenteuer mit ein paar blauen Flecken und klatschnass trotz Schutzkleidung.

Our small ship races through and across the choppy sea. Taking a decent picture or film in this swell seems unimaginable to me at this moment.

It was a bit of a stressful but absolute interesting adventure with a few bruises and soaking wet despite protective clothing.

Another one from what is going to be my new "Kaleidoscoping" series (please see first comment for the first picture of this series). I won't post / create all too many images in this style, and only infrequently, but it's great fun to make these crazy kaleidoscope-style image-flipping "mirror worlds". The single image from which I created this was taken during a spontaneous visit to the Deutscher Dom ("New Church", colloquially known as "German Cathedral", although it isn't a cathedral as such; today it is a museum for German parliamentory history) located on Gendarmenmarkt in the Mitte district at the heart of Berlin. What you see is the roof construction of the room right under the cupola (which can't be visited). In that room you can see architectural models of historical buildings from all parts of Germany that played an important part in German (parliamentary) history. I thought that the roof construction was interesting in its own right and took a few shots handheld (as I didn't have a tripod with me and they aren't allowed in museums anyway), using the exposure bracketing function (three images). Thus not 100 percent sharp, but "OK sharp", I think. In PS, I duplicated the workspace, copied the layer with the original image, and flipped that both horizontally and vertically, and then, in Lightroom, rotated the merged image to the left. The result, for me, looks like the heart of giant "sound machine" or "soundship" (a spaceship fuelled by music). I hope you like it :-)

Ein weiteres "Kaleidoskop"-Bild. Ich werde hier eine kleine Serie erstellen, unregelmäßig, auch nicht zu viele davon, aber es macht einfach großen Spaß, diese surrealen Spiegelwelten zusammenzubauen - wenn es denn das Foto hergibt (im ersten Kommentar findet ihr das erste Bild dieser Art). Dieses Bild habe ich bei einem Spontanbesuch des Deutschen Doms aufgenommen, im Raum direkt unter der Kuppel (die man leider nicht besichtigen kann). Der Deutsche Dom zeigt ja eine Ausstellung zur deutschen Parlamentsgeschichte und in diesem Raum in luftiger Höhe kann man Architekturmodelle von bedeutenden deutschen Bauwerken, die im Zusammenhang dazu stehen, betrachten. Die Stahlkonstruktion des Daches war für sich genommen ebenfalls interessant. Das Ausgangsfoto ist aus der Hand gemacht (ein Stativ hatte ich eh nicht dabei und es wäre auch nicht erlaubt gewesen, eins dort aufzustellen), mit einer Belichtungsreihe aus drei Bildern, nicht 100%ig scharf, weil es nicht besonders hell dort war, aber "OK scharf", finde ich. In Photoshop habe ich erst die Arbeitsfläche vertikal verdoppelt, das Foto dupliziert, dann horizontal und vertikal gespiegelt und in Lightroom das zusammengefügte Bild nach links gedreht. Das Ergebnis sieht für mich wie das Herz einer riesigen Musikmaschine oder eines Musik-angetriebenen Raumschiffs aus.

Kleiner Nachtrag vom Urlaub im Sommer 2016. Das Bild habe ich zur blauen Stunde in Manarola aufgenommen. Der Starke Wellengang hat eine diesige Nebelwand verursacht, so dass es sehr schwierig war ein klares Bild zu erstellen.
Das Bild ist mein absoluter Favorit geworden, auch durch die etwas düstere und diesige Erscheinung.

Auf der Moll de Barcelona, direkt am Hafenbecken, befindet sich das World Trade Center Barcelonas. Das Aufsehen erregende Design des Komplexes stammt von den amerikanischen Architektenteam Pei, Cobb, Fred & Partners, zu deren bekanntesten Arbeiten auch die Glaspyramide am Eingang des Louvre-Museums in Paris zählt.

Au cours de la guerre de Cent Ans, Bernard de Garlan (du parti des Anglais) s'en empare. Il sème la terreur dans toute la région et ce n'est qu'à prix d'or que l'on parvient à le déloger. Pour éviter que Garlan ait des successeurs, les habitants de Saint-Flour incendient le château en 1405. Monseigneur de la Tour, propriétaire du château, très mécontent de ces déprédations, obligea les sanflorains à le reconstruire.
Les Huguenots le prirent en 1575.
Les tours furent utilisées comme geôles par les évêques de Clermont.

Die Stadtbahnstation der Bogestra liegt im Gelsenkirchener Stadtteil Bismarck in der Nähe der stillgelegten Zeche Consolidation. Sie wurde ganz in Erinnerung an diese Zeche gestaltet. Bereits am Eingang erinnert ein großformatiges Bild an die Arbeit unter Tage. Das Deckengewölbe des Bahnhofs ist das eines Stollens nachempfunden. An den Wänden ist der Verlauf der Flöze dargestellt.
Der Verlauf des Bahnsteiges ist vom Eingang aus gesehen nach rechts gebogen. Dadurch ist es nicht möglich, symmetrisch angeordnete Fotos zu erstellen. Er hat nur einen Zugang...........
The Bogestra light rail station is located in the Bismarck district of Gelsenkirchen near the closed Consolidation colliery. It was designed entirely in memory of this colliery. 1. Versuch ein Startrail Foto zu erstellen. Die Bedingungen waren mehr als schlecht. Rechts ein Wohngebiet, links eine Firma und alles mit Bewegungsmeldern für Flugabwehrscheinwerfern ausgestattet. Daher musste ich einiges an Licht verschmutzen Fotos aussortieren. Die Windmühle existiert seit 1551 und war bis 1912 in betrieb. Heute steht sie unter Denkmalschutz. Bearbeitet wie immer mit Darktable und Gimp. Inspiriert von Wolfgang Zimmerman!
1. Try to create a startrail photo. The conditions were beyond bad. A residential area on the right, a company on the left and all equipped with motion detectors for anti-aircraft searchlights. So I had to sort out a lot of light polluted photos. The windmill has existed since 1551 and was in use until 1912. Today it is under monument protection. Edited with Darktable and Gimp as always.
