Error series
2017, mixed media, 50 x 50 cm
A pass-port portrait painted by acrylic on canvas cut and formed in precise reference to the QR-code corresponding with “error” (meaning the identity is not recognized), mounted on cardboard, plus the Farsi word Ghalat (Error) made by neon lights mounted on it.
Yo no me daba cuenta.
"Error Code: 404", self-portrait April 2024
This is a two-part image, truly meant to be seen as a video/ animation.
“The 404 response status code indicates that the server cannot find the requested resource. Links that lead to a 404 page are often called broken or dead links and can be subject to link rot. A 404 status code only indicates that the resource is missing: not whether the absence is temporary or permanent.”
A few weeks ago I found an old journal. It was from a particularly hard time in my life and as I read through it I was shocked by how much I had forgotten. I can’t help but be thankful that I have forgotten the details of many of those moments. While I remember the feelings and lessons I learned I have no need to be overwhelmed by old wounds that have long since healed.
