🇫🇷 C’est sous l'impulsion de la République de Gênes que les tours côtières, de plan circulaire, ont été édifiées sur le littoral. Ces tours de gué servaient également de postes douaniers et de repaires terrestres aux bateaux.
Ces édifices sont financés par des taxes sur le sel ou par des emprunts.
Dans le Cap Corse, les villageois en prennent en charge eux-mêmes la construction
Des tours fortifiées, carrées, apparaissent à la même période. Construites par les familles de notables et symbole de prestige social, elles servent également de refuge à la population en cas de péril.
Aujourd'hui ces hauts lieux de mémoire, protégés et restaurés, font partie intégrante du patrimoine architectural insulaire et caractérisent le paysage cap-corsin.

🇮🇹È sotto l'impulso della Repubblica di Genova che le torri costiere, a pianta circolare, sono state edificate sul litorale. Queste torri di guado servivano anche da posti doganali e di ritrovi terrestri alle navi. Questi edifici sono finanziati da tasse sul sale o da prestiti. Nel Capo Corso, gli abitanti del villaggio si occupano della costruzione Torri fortificate, quadrate, appaiono nello stesso periodo. Costruite dalle famiglie dei notabili e simbolo di prestigio sociale, servono anche da rifugio alla popolazione in caso di pericolo. Oggi questi alti luoghi di memoria, protetti e restaurati, sono parte integrante del patrimonio architettonico insulare e caratterizzano il paesaggio di Cap-Corsin.
🇩🇪 Auf Betreiben der Republik Genua wurden die Küstentürme mit kreisförmigem Grundriss an der Küste errichtet. Diese Wachtürme dienten auch als Zollstationen und als Landverstecke für Schiffe.
Finanziert wurden diese Bauten durch Salzsteuern oder durch Anleihen.
Im Cap Corse übernahmen die Dorfbewohner selbst die Verantwortung für ihren Bau.
Zur gleichen Zeit tauchen auch befestigte, quadratische Türme auf. Sie wurden von den Familien der Honoratioren gebaut und waren ein Symbol des sozialen Prestiges, dienten aber auch der Bevölkerung als Zufluchtsort bei Gefahr.
Heute sind diese hohen Erinnerungsorte, die geschützt und restauriert werden, ein integraler Bestandteil des architektonischen Erbes der Insel und prägen die Landschaft von Cap Corsica.

En Cabo Córcega, los propios aldeanos se hacen cargo de la construcción Torres fortificadas, cuadradas, aparecen en el mismo período. Construidas por las familias de notables y símbolo de prestigio social, sirven también de refugio a la población en caso de peligro. Hoy en día estos altos lugares de memoria, protegidos y restaurados, forman parte integrante del patrimonio arquitectónico insular y caracterizan el paisaje cabo Corán.

These signs are to be found all across the streets of the Bayerisches Viertel (Bavarian Quarter) in Berlin-Schöneberg. They commemorate and document the process of deprivation of jewish citizens from their rights by presenting quotes of anti-jewish, rassistic legal statements from the Nazi-era in the public space.
At the time, this quarter was largely inhabited by middle class citizens from the jewish community. It was also where Walter Benjamin found his last place of residence before he fled to France.
In 1925 Walter Benjamin's habilitation treatise on the "Ursprung des deutschen Trauerspiels" had been turned down by the university of Frankfurt. He decided to withdraw his apllication for a professorship in advance of the official rejection.

Places of memory converts two spaces of the former children's home in Cologne Sütz, immediately before the demolition of the building into a place of reflection of the past. The relation of the two installations to the home is located in the issue of the uprooting of its former inhabitants. Root and root as both structural and supportive elements of the tree will be here even alienated, plastically and metaphorically.

Gedenken zum 80. Jahrestag des Sieges über den Nationalsozialismus am sowjetischen Ehrenmal auf dem Ostseeplatz in Berlin-Prenlzauer Berg. Es ist einer der eher unbekannten Erinnerungsorte in Berlin und besteht aus einer Gedenktafel und einem Findling. Die Tafel zeigt einen Rotarmisten der unweit dieser Stelle gefallen ist. / Commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the victory over National Socialism at the Soviet memorial on Ostseeplatz in Berlin-Prenlzauer Berg. It is one of the lesser-known memorial sites in Berlin and consists of a memorial plaque and an erratic boulder. The plaque shows a Red Army soldier who fell not far from this spot.
