Sky was dark and calm at the night there. Milkyway was beautiful. All planets were in the eastern sky in the morning, though Venus and Mercury were below the horizon yet at the moment.

Iceland Equirectangular

Un premier essai de photo 360 degrés.

Ça ne fonctionnera malheureusement pas sur un cell. Par contre sur un écran d'ordinateur, c'est assez amusant.

Testé sur Firefox, Chrome et Edge.

A first test with this funny little camera. Can't wait to take it underwater....

Panorama view of Apollo 11 Lunar surface photos taken by Astronaut Neil Armstrong at Tranquility Base of a crater Armstrong noted during the Lunar Module descent. The panoramas were built by combining Apollo 11 images starting with frame AS11-40-5954 through end frame AS11-40-5961. The panoramic images received minimal retouching by NASA imagery specialists, including the removal of lens flares that were problematic in stitching together the individual frames and blacking out the sky to the lunar horizon. These adjustments were made based on observations of the Moon walkers who reported that there are no stars visible in the sky due to the bright lunar surface reflection of the Sun.

Testing Hejnar Panoramic head. Canon 8-15mm @ 8mm with 7.5° tilt + 3 nadir shots patched.

I realize this isn't the best, but I'd like to learn how to improve for future reference. Feedback is appreciated as well as any tips and tricks.

I was asked to make this pano and while I agreed I made no promises. For one, I wasn't sure how noisy the long exposures would be. The actual images were really more true to the lighting situation as it was really darker than this to my eye however I was able to lift some detail with RAW. I did a lot of post work to remove that noise which gave the intermediate image a very plastic look. Also, I had to hand stitch most of it because PTgui couldn't find matching points.

While there are a lot of issues with this image (no! don't look at that nadir! :), the person for whom I took it for is pretty happy with the fond memory that it evokes.

Yesterday I took the 360 up to hoodooland. Here I was trying to set the camera up on a rock and accidentally pressed the exposure button on my phone, which controls the camera.

Old man, old rocks. I'll be gone in a few years; they'll last a few hundred. In both cases we'll be replaced with newer, maybe more fantastic, versions.

I had my GPS tracker and my RoadID bracelet. On the way out I met two guys from Connecticut who were just arriving.

I could enjoy astroimaging near Mt.Fuji through the calm night. The site was dark and open toward east, but the sky was not dark toward east due to light dome over Tokyo. The site was not good for imaging of rising comet.

equipment: Ricoh Theta Z1 on a compact tripod

exposure: 60 seconds at f/2.1 and ISO 1,000

site: 733m above sea level at lat. 35 22 03 North and long. 138 32.59 East in Asagiri Highland 静岡県朝霧高原. Ambient temperature was around 5 degrees Celsius or 41 degrees Fahrenheit. Wind was mild. SQML reached 21.08. Seeing was bad, and guide error RMS was around 3" at the low elevation in the sky. The view was open toward the direction there, but the site was not suitable for imaging of rising comets.
