As he lowered his head to touch muzzle to snow, his mane parted, revealing a glimpse at the blue of his eye, reminding me that even in the midst of a wintry, white, snowy wonderland, there is always color to be found.
This beautiful old mare belongs to one of my friends. She has owned her for many years and has given her a number of very good foals.
A group of wild Dartmoor ponies at the foothills of White Tor. Some of them looked quite shaggy with parts of their winter coat still clinging on.
Today I took an Equine Photography Workshop out in Winfield, Missouri. It was fun photographing something a little different today. I've always liked these dark, moody images but had never tried doing them before.
This lovely horse is surrounded by cows. She and one other horse leaned against each other in a corner looking unhappy and didnāt bother to graze. The cows ran past them playing and ignoring them. This was once a horse ranch, things have changed her friends are gone.

I enjoyed some much needed equine therapy today. Just Pete and I. It was good. Quiet and peaceful, just the way I like it.
