As he lowered his head to touch muzzle to snow, his mane parted, revealing a glimpse at the blue of his eye, reminding me that even in the midst of a wintry, white, snowy wonderland, there is always color to be found.

This beautiful old mare belongs to one of my friends. She has owned her for many years and has given her a number of very good foals.

A group of wild Dartmoor ponies at the foothills of White Tor. Some of them looked quite shaggy with parts of their winter coat still clinging on.

Three horses in a field on a foggy sunrise

Today I took an Equine Photography Workshop out in Winfield, Missouri. It was fun photographing something a little different today. I've always liked these dark, moody images but had never tried doing them before.

A photo of a horse resting during a cold winter morning.

At home on the range.

A horse of a different color..

This lovely horse is surrounded by cows. She and one other horse leaned against each other in a corner looking unhappy and didn’t bother to graze. The cows ran past them playing and ignoring them. This was once a horse ranch, things have changed her friends are gone.

I’m now offering photography sessions for horses – whether it’s portraits, action shots, or capturing the special bond you share.

And it doesn’t stop there… I’ll even consider photographing livestock like goats, cows, pigs, or anything a little out of the ordinary – the more unique, the better! šŸšŸ„šŸ–

I can also capture those special moments between you and your horse as their rider – from quiet connection to in-the-saddle action.

This one horse with the star marking on its forehead was certainly the one that struck up a connection with me. She looked truly beautiful in that country paddock.
