Waking up early to catch a sunrise during summer times is not for the faint hearted. This is because the sunrise happens at around 5am, and getting to a good vantage point, setting up as you desire, ensuring that the morning cold does not get to you, figuring out where to compose, and doing all this while you figure out a new place that you have never been to before - all adds up in the equation of whether or not you have a decent outing.
I have attempted many sunrises in my journey through life, and for the most part, I do not end up with anything substantial. Mostly because, figuring out all parts of the equation early in the morning fighting the elements, your inertia and of course your brain struggling to come to terms with what is happening before it is fully functional is not an equation that often gets balanced, but when it does, the results could definitely be worth your while.
Flamborough head is a beautiful place filled with photo ops (in case you want to venture to that neck of the woods) - this was taken near there, on a bright and sunny morning many many years ago - and just like I witnessed this dawn, this photograph is witnessing its own here :)
Thanks for viewing and have a fantastic Easter break everyone!
Simple equation… Cocktail = hangover
… the worst present I ever had was a book of cocktail recipes…the resulting hangover was of epic proportions and now I hardly ever go more adventurous than G&T
Nice to wake up this morning to see this make Explore!

"You did the right thing, yeah
When you went and looked my way
I know, I know what you wanna say
You wrote it all on your face
(On, on, your)
Just beam me up, beam me up, leave me, don't bring me down
You've been fighting from the gallows
The shadows just come on out
(But you know)
It's all good when it's all bad
Be hurting all day but it's all math
You're losing your brain
And falling right back
It's all good when it's all bad
Been looking all day but it's all math
Just solve the equation
Get it all back." - QUIÑ ♫

Some of you my have noticed my absence lately and I feel the need to explain myself for my lack of participation here on Flickr. No I haven't jumped ship and moved to instagram, I barely use any of my other social media outlets. During the month of October I had scheduled to shoot three weddings to make some extra cash for shooting, which lead me too a realization after editing 8000 wedding photos. I thought that I wanted to make a living on the road shooting landscapes full time, but it turns out that I don't really want to give up all of my earthly possessions, I still want to come home and relax on a large comfortable sofa and sleep in a California King size bed and workout in the garage or mow the lawn or most of all, having a solid income to spend while out shooting. Things that I have taken for granted over the last two years. I found that I would rather work a 9-5 job and enjoy a comfortable living and then shoot on the weekends, that way I can focus on the shooting and worry about the business stuff later. I greatly admire those that have followed that path, to sacrifice so much for their passion is commendable but in my opinion the sacrifice is too great. A plan like that requires a single individual and I'm married so that equation will never-ever work as a married man. So I will continue to be a weekend warrior. It's much more enjoyable that way and as a bonus I can keep my wife. Hehe. :-)

Everything involves science. How much a power generated with your punch? How fast you can slide from being hit? the momentum, the force?
Well, if you do not take the first step to find out, all these calculations are useless.
I haven’t been doing many experiments since my early Flickr days, mostly I’m afraid of alienating my followers, especially the ones who like my nature and macro. But, there are a lot of possibilities I might not know if I don’t actually stepping out.
I loved science, and yet I had discovered a whole other realm of reality, one that could not be accessed by formulas or equations but by stripping oneself of “self” and entering the dark, cavernous mystery of the human heart. The laboratory of knowledge was now not only in the world of science but in the world of the soul. To find God without, one must find God within.

What can a pencil do for all of us? Amazing things. It can write transcendent poetry, uplifting music, or life-changing equations; it can sketch the future, give life to untold beauty, and communicate the full-force of our love and aspirations. -

“When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life.” - John Lennon

The Navier-Stokes equation is a partial differential equation that describes the motion of a viscous fluid that conserves momentum, mass, and energy.

I have been fascinated by acrylic pours for a while. However, I haven't tried doing them because they can be messy. With this simulation of fluid flow that runs in a browser, I can create such images without the mess :).
You can find the web site that creates these beautiful images here:
paveldogreat.github.io/WebGL-Fluid-Simulation/
Your browser needs to support WebGL to generate these images.
The image presented here has been touched up slightly in Photoshop (made larger and a bit more vibrant), but this is basically what you get on that web site above.
A playful take on the number 21, because what better way to celebrate Flickr’s 21st birthday than with a delicious lineup of treats? Three white chocolate, sixteen milk chocolate, and two dark chocolate pieces create a sweet equation: 3 + 16 + 2 = 21! The smooth chocolate coating, rich tones, and a hint of coffee beans make this a bold, flavorful tribute to Flickr’s creativity and community.

The equations on the Oxford blackboard are taken directly from a key paper on relativistic cosmology written by Einstein in April 1931 and published in the Proceedings of the Royal Prussian Academy of Science on May 9 of that year. The paper, known as The Friedmann-Einstein universe, is of historic significance because it constituted the first scientific publication in which Einstein embraced the possibility of a cosmos of time-varying radius.
