Take action and get involved by voting, and urging elected officials to pursue sensible environmental laws. Incorporate eco-friendly practices in the home, the workplace and throughout the community. Look into joining or volunteering with an environmental or community organization working to make a difference. As Mahatma Gandhi said, "Be the change you wish to see in the world."
Nancy Steinmeyer has been exploring environmental issues through her artwork for the past 10 years, and global warming is her new target. This globe reveals how every small action can add up to a large reduction in the emission of carbon dioxide gas into the atmosphere. A reproduction of Edward Munch's famous painting "The Scream" might signify the planet calling out for help, while Steinmeyer's "I want you" image of Uncle Sam provokes the viewer to act.
