The wind was really blowing and this field was just a wave of movement. All my attempts to capture the movement in an image came up short however. I really liked this image regardless.

A very successful green tax switch stall at Hexham (pictured), despite the rain! In addition, there was a very successful stall in Ponteland, also run by Hexham Liberal Democrats. We even presented the slips to Lib Dem MP, Chris Huhne later that day!

Kenneth Bridgers, farm manager at The Well at Oxon Run, operated by DC Greens, poses at the farm and community wellness property in Ward 8 of Washington, D.C., on July 3, 2024. Bridgers grew up in Ward 8 and now works with the community to share his love for gardening and his knowledge of the holistic benefits of giving back through fresh produce. "Using food as medicine, using the garden space as a therapeutic means to help people process their experiences, whether positive or traumatic is essential," Bridgers said. Enjoy this video clip of Earth Day Mill Valley, our free community event at the Mill Valley Community Center on Sunday, April 21, 2024, from 11am to 2pm.

Earth Day Mill Valley featured fun activities for all ages, climate action exhibits, art. music -- and free ice cream! Over 50 green booths engaged visitors to help build a more just and sustainable world. Participants learned to live sustainably, use clean energy and transportation, green up their homes and gardens, eat healthy food, protect nature, and build resilient communities.

Thanks to all our photographers and videographers who took these pictures of our event! They include: Stuart Bass, Fabrice Florin, Sofia Fernandez Hernandez, Daniel Jacob, Kevin Morrison and Michael Wanger. Their images were edited by Green Change director Fabrice Florin, to help give a sense of what our event was like, as well as promote the work of our partners, and the many climate actions presented at the event.

Kudos to our partners at Mill Valley Recreation for organizing this great event – and to our Green Change team and volunteers for supporting our work and hosting our Climate Action Center. Special thanks to our exhibit sponsors, including the County of Marin, Good Earth, MCE and Marin Community Foundation.

We hope they will inspire you to take action in your own life to protect our future and build a more just and sustainable world. See you next year!

Makeeda Bandele-Asante, farm assistant for the 2024 season at The Well at Oxon Run, poses at the farm and community wellness property operated by DC Greens in Washington, D.C., on July 3, 2024. Asante started in May and tends to the fields, harvests with community members and gives tours. “I love being outside. It’s a multi-dimensional experience for me to be able to farm, be in the sun, and exercise that way. I’m a registered dietitian, and food and nutrition mean a lot to me, so it’s almost like a daily lesson. Every day, I learn something new about food, nutrition, and herbs, and I just feel really connected to the outdoors,” Asante said. (Photo by Rhiannon Johnston/Chesapeake Bay Program)
