As part of the ES-CEC (Continuing Education Center) project, funded by Fund and implemented by AKF-CEC, a vibrant English Summer School activity was held in Hama–Salamieh on July 22, 2025. The initiative targeted 15 learners aged 10–14 years old (8 females and 7 males), offering them a magical summer experience filled with engaging and educational fun. Under the theme “A Magical Summer at CEC English Summer School!”, the activity featured dynamic and interactive sessions in the “Magic Lab,” where children participated in exciting games and creative experiments specifically designed to enhance their English skills while keeping the learning experience enjoyable and inspiring. "Magic Lab" is a science experiment using safe chemicals to produce a fun, fizzing reaction: perforated cardboard cups with smiley faces are filled with ingredients that, when mixed with vinegar, cause colorful fizzing that reveals the image — combining scientific curiosity with English language learning. Supported by the Aga Khan Foundation, this initiative created a joyful and enriching environment that promoted a love for the English language among children in Salamieh. Through educational activities focused on both engagement and skill development, learners had the opportunity to grow linguistically and socially in a supportive and inclusive setting. This summer school is a component of the wider CEC project, which seeks to increase employment and self-employment opportunities for youth in coordination with the University of Central Asia. The Continuing Education Center's English Summer School provides an engaging and enriching program aimed at enhancing English language skills through innovative activities such as the Magic Lab. Aligned with the Work and Enterprise Program’s employable skills theme, the CEC’s children’s programs are designed to prepare learners for future success by fostering a love of learning and expanding their vocabulary and English proficiency in a fun, creative, and impactful way. This program equips children and teens with essential English language and technical skills, laying a strong foundation for their participation in future training programs.
