here's a technical look at a shellfish harvesting been with weight Calc's -many different shellfish harvesters have their own style design -this design had special features Incorporated in the lip for lifting rotating and cleaning. After watching the amount of labor wasted in this screening cleaning process. I designed a better system that could be speeded up with the track and live system for the daily cleaning of shellfish. this was an art project in development in South Korea. Parts of the technical aspect could've been handled easily with the right 3-D engineering software. this project never went to contract.
the steel plate was also laser cut to the correct angle and the structural tabs were welded into place by way of our computer drawings to complete the angle. Everything was done correctly due to the level of detail we provide on projects. Follow us on facebook.com/pages/Seattle-Spiral/ design and installation by Martin Brunt
this is aspects of a yacht design, for it Seattle designer boatbuilder. The boat was being built in South China and had difficult with aspects of the 3-D detailing. They typically have used AutoCAD but I convinced the ownership to use 3-D design on complex aspects of the yacht, this yacht was sold to it Seattle client and was 52 feet long.

this unique design Incorporated pultrusion composite see turbine to resist salt water erosion. The lightweight aspect of the turbine is very doable. Working on this design, I was astonished by how many large level power generators still used stainless steel style turbines. Boeing is building their planes out a composite, turbines are the best use for this material. All inquiries are welcome please contact me via Facebook/pages/Seattle spiral
these tubes were design for below water shellfish harvesting. The tubes would be raised once a day and the hatches would be opened for washing and cleaning and inspection. This is a very good concept and very affordable. This client had existing pilings Incorporated in their dock structure, so this design was ideal. more and more CAD programs are allowing for 3-D detailing. This is very helpful on existing structural build outs or if clients have a hard time understanding line drawings. Cobalt is not an ideal architectural drawing program but it has its value in some aspects.

this 3-D drawing shows translucency through structural walls to better displaying the design. This structure would be set into place using long fiberglass composite type sheets. There is truck access to this area so having this predesigned and set down into the existing concrete steel Tide wall was ideal. I used cobalt for all design build engineering drawings and been using this software for the past 20 years. This is an existing tide gate area ideal for hydropower. This type gate was designed to move both directions, utilizing the high hello tide cycles two times a day. It's an ideal situation for Hydro power in the Northwest. after viewing the amount of labor it takes daily to clean and maintain shellfish bends. I came up with a better design that would utilize the timing with dock improvements. The Northwest weather's condition in the winter time is very demanding on employees. This design has many other features that have been not included. this is an existing structure, ideal for Hydro generation in the Northwest. The existing concrete and steel is in disarray a could be upgraded by better use of materials, structural fiberglass, composite, manufactured in a high strength type method. this was a design to improve on an existing shellfish harvesting system. The design Incorporated raceways built from fiberglass pultrusion. The water flow would then flow into locked bins and the whole system was supported by engineered ballasts. This system Incorporated several different waterflow uses, waterwheels, pumps for different needs. It was also a huge safety improvement for staff working sometimes in very unfavorable conditions.
3-D modeling is very helpful when designing dock systems. Some dock systems will have ballasts floats and moving water that all need to be engineered for stability. Some of these parts incorporate electrical, pumps and safety features - all the added more effort for good detail around water. this was the design of both the dock system, waterflow, and shellfish bins for shellfish harvesting. The existing system was very much low-tech, and the client did not have funds to improve to a higher standard. With higher technology, flow performance yields much better shellfish in the end. Technology and quality make for a good argument to improve poor conditions. Feel free to contact us via Facebook/pages/Seattle spiral
the outflow of water, or call it up flow, comes through the bottom of the shellfish bends and flows out via different water drawn methods. Some vendors like a simple waterwheel others use pumps. For more information follow us or contact us via Facebook/pages/Seattle spiral

part of this improvement was incorporating improve materials fiberglass, composite and other state-of-the-art technologies.
