I came to an island adrift in the vastness, a sanctuary where silence is not absence but a living presence. It is the silence of my world, born of a quiet ache—the loss of her, once near, now vanished into the unseen. This hush gathers around me like twilight, mending what was broken, steadying what was restless, yet never erasing the shadow of longing.
Upon its shores, I kneel in the sand. My words are not merely spoken but breathed as prayers through trembling hands. The tide erases them, yet their essence lingers, carried into the sea’s eternal rhythm. And in that rhythm, I hear her voice, tender and unwavering:
She speaks through the Sea: “I have never left you. My breath moves in the waves, my love rests in the tide. Each crest carries my memory, each retreat my return. I hold your ache, and I give it back as calm. I am yours still.”
Mist rises from the island’s heart, drifting like a spirit across stone and grove. It enfolds me, and within its veil I feel her shadow walking beside me—her nearness pressing against my soul, her devotion woven into the air.
She whispers through the Mist: “I walk with you, unseen but near. I am the touch you cannot hold, the silence that still embraces. Loss is not emptiness— it is another way of being close. In my veil, I enfold you. You are mine, always.”
And then the sunset arrives—pale as the moon. It does not blaze with fire, but glows with quiet mercy, a silvered light softening the horizon. Gold fades into pearl, crimson into rose, violet into ash. In its pallor, I see her face in the sky, luminous and tender, her gaze woven into the evening hush.
She proclaims through the Pale Sunset: “I am remembrance, and I am yours. What was presence is now light, what was loss is now flame. Your words rise into me, and I crown them with stillness. Your ache is not a wound, but a passage. Through me, longing becomes peace, and silence becomes song. I love you still.”
And then, as twilight deepens, her voices gather together—sea, mist, and pale sunset speaking as one, yet carrying her devotion:
Her Chorus sings: “I cradle your loss, I hold your longing. I veil what is absent as nearness, I transfigure ache into light. In my hush, you are not alone. In my cycle, you are remade. I am with you, always.”.
Here, in the silence of my world, I am renewed. Twilight is not a fading, but a threshold. Sand, sea, mist, and pale sunset form a cycle, a myth of belonging where longing becomes peace. Concealed yet revealed, I stand at the island’s heart, listening as she walks beside me, her love woven into the island—and in that hush, I am remade.

Should I stand amid the breakers?
Now my foolish boat is leaning
Broken lovelorn on your rocks
Here I am ... Waiting to hold you

I'm as puzzled as a newborn child.
I'm as riddled as the tide.
Should I stand amid the breakers?
Or shall I lie with death my bride?
Here me sing: "Swim to me, swim to me,
Let me enfold you."
Here I am, Here I am, waiting to hold you."

"Be Thou my consolation, my shield when I must die;
Remind me of Thy passion when my last hour draws nigh.
Mine eyes shall then behold Thee, upon Thy cross shall dwell,
My heart by faith enfolds Thee. Who dieth thus dies well."
Vs 7, O Sacred Head Now Wounded, Bernard of Clairvaux 1091-1153
Grandma was laid to rest today.
“May the raindrops fall lightly on your brow. May the soft winds freshen your spirit. May the sunshine brighten your heart. May the burdens of the day rest lightly upon you, and may God enfold you in the mantle of His love.”
The fact that nature is tied to increasing entropy—that is, to the increasing loss of energy over time—and hence to irreversible time, also allows for the enfolding of each person’s biography into the supportive fabric of a long cosmic narrative that is still incomplete. Nature, or what theology calls creation, is an unfinished drama rather than the product of an opening instant of divine magic. This means that the universe is undergoing a suspenseful and anticipatory process into which the evolution of all species and the brief stories of our own lives are woven seamlessly.

Because of you, in gardens of blossoming flowers
I ache from the perfumes of spring.
I have forgotten your face,
I no longer remember your hands;
how did your lips feel on mine?
Because of you, I love the white statues drowsing in the parks
the white statues that have neither voice nor sight.
I have forgotten your voice, your happy voice;
I have forgotten your eyes.
Like a flower to its perfume,
I am bound to my vague memory of you.
I live with pain that is like a wound;
if you touch me, you will do me irreparable harm.
Your caresses enfold me,
like climbing vines on melancholy walls.
I have forgotten your love,
yet I seem to glimpse you in every window.
Because of you, the heady perfumes of summer pain me;
because of you, I again seek out the signs that precipitates desires:
shooting stars and falling objects.

This leaf is from my favorite maple tree, that resides in my backyard. I am so fortunate that this tree can still produce such beauty. We have been through some rough patches.
I stand before you on this particular evening...the sun is setting...and its light is shinning through you, exposing every detail of your beauty especially in this leaf...which has unfolded in all its majestic potential. A number of your kind are still pushing out...waiting to stretch as you have!
In these unusual times, it is this kind of beauty....paying attention to the ordinary that is extra ordinary...because the forces that shape my awareness have drawn me to you...here are now. Why, do I burst in joy? I am not standing before a mighty ocean...but before you, a simple leaf...and yet the overwhelming feelings are the same.
May I always carry this awareness...this unfolding of creation, in its smallest expression...enfolding me in a liturgical experience...and I fall silent!

Let your arms enfold us
Through the dark of night
Will your angels hold us
Till we see the light
Hush, lay down your troubled mind
The day has vanished and left us behind
And the wind, whispering soft lullabies
Will soothe, so close your weary eyes
Let your arms enfold us
Through the dark of night
Will your angels hold us
Till we see the light
Sleep, angels will watch over you
And soon beautiful dreams will come true
Can you feel spirits embracing your soul
So dream while secrets of darkness unfold

One of my alltime favourite places. I loved the way the sun enfolded the hills and left valleys of shadow behind it. You can see our neighbour and his dog Mugsy sitting on his jetty bottom left.
The form of this flower is remarkable! The spathe is pure waxy white and enfolds a spiky white spadix held in place by a shiny, brilliant green stem. The flowers last for months, yellowing a bit but still remaining beautiful.
The genus Spathiphyllum is found on the forest floor in rain forests of tropical America. This explains its ability to cope with poor lighting and makes it a popular home and office plant. Here in South Florida it is used extensively in landscaping, adding a lovely flash of pure white wherever it is.

We found a spectacular spot to watch the sunset from the Mountains to Sea trail in Western North Carolina. Last night did not disappoint and I found myself feeling soul-deep encouragment and Hope as I wached this magnificent scene unfold. I thought of the words from a hymn:
"I’ll set my gaze on God alone
And trust in Him completely;
With every day pour out my soul
And He will prove His mercy."
Just before the sun broke through the horizon was enfolded in dark clouds, and then it rained. But we waited knowing that so much can change in just an hour's time. And then, this. The Sun "undid" the darkness and the rain stopped! It was a parade of light and rolling, exploding joyful color!

ILLUMINATI
It has taken all this time
For you to find me
I have watched you from afar
From the edges of this sacred ground
Waiting for you to walk the path
That would one day bring you closer
To these truths that you searched for
But you found so hard to find
Because this inner landscape
Joins your heart and mind
Finally leaving any deceptions
Far, far behind
Let the mystery enfold you
You have found me here this bright morning
Join me on this path so we are together
And let my love enfold you
And beat in time with your heart

This work is again from the series of images that I took of this beautiful Angel in Ocklynge Cemetery in Eastbourne. The experience of being with this Angel on that crisp cold morning in February was very special for me. This cemetery has a unique atmosphere; voices calling out for you in this Gothic City of The Dead. They did call me back, and I visited again in June this year. I have been writing some work to the images I took in the summer.
It is a place I shall want to keep returning to, as it is not far from where I live, and I am considering putting up a whole page on my website dedicated to this place, as the work and inspiration keeps growing.
I have again paired this work with the song “Sound Of Silence”, and again, sung by David Draiman, but this time live. I always knew this would be a ‘part B’ to “The Student”, my other work, that is a partner to this, and where I included Disturbed’s official recording of The Sound of Silence.
I have been saving this image and its blue sky and Angel just for David’s live performance to be included with it. The two just went together in my mind. The words to my poem came to me that morning as I stood there with this Angel. I had to scribble them down in my notebook. Because David’s performance is so special I am going to thank him in my own way and dedicate this work to him, as a thank you for sharing his God-given voice with us, for uplifting us, for sharing his heart. I do not add dedications lightly….otherwise what would be the point.
Thank you.

All the stars may shine bright
All the clouds may be white
But when you smile
Oh how I feel so good
That I can hardly wait
To hold you
Enfold you
Never enough
Render your heart to me
All mine
You have to be
From that cloud, number nine
Danger starts the sharp incline
And such sad regrets
Oh as those starry skies
As they swiftly fall
Make no mistake
You shan't escape
Tethered and tied
There's nowhere to hide from me
All mine
You have to be
So don't resist
We shall exist
Until the day
Until the day I die
All mine
You have to be

“Our life was full of pills,” AA Bronson recalled of the early 1990s, “so they became part of our work.” At first, General Idea made a set of three pill-Shaped sculptures named after the drugs Amoxicillin, Bacampicillin and Carbenicillin. The pills kept replicating. The five coffin-sized units in One Day of AZT reference the daily dose of antiviral drug Felix Partz was taking. One Year of AZT represents his annual dosage: 1825 pills, which he called his “little helpers.”
Elegiac and quietly moving, these two works were made near the end of General Idea’s practice. The installation is intended to overwhelm, enfolding is in a pharmacological universe.
Another selection that was shown at the Beguilded show and later at Transylvania.

I did all my best to smile
'Til your singing eyes and fingers
Drew me loving to your isle
And you sang, Sail to me, sail to me
Let me enfold you,
Here I am, here I am
Waiting to hold you"
Did I dream you dreamed about me?
Were you here when I was full sail?
Now my foolish boat is leaning
Broken lovelorn on your rocks..."

Yesterday I spotted this small fly emerging from a strawflower opening as the sun came out. It could well have spent a luxurious night enfolded by these gorgeous pink petals. However, they look soft and fluffy like flamingos' feathers but in fact are hard and spiky. Maybe the fly was glad to get out of this deceptive and jagged trap.

O ends of autumn, winters, springtimes drenched with mud,
Seasons that lull to sleep! I love you, I praise you
For enfolding my heart and mind thus
In a misty shroud and a filmy tomb.
On that vast plain where the cold south wind plays,
Where in the long, dark nights the weather-cock grows hoarse,
My soul spreads wide its raven wings
More easily than in the warm springtide.
Nothing is sweeter to a gloomy heart
On which the hoar-frost has long been falling,
Than the permanent aspect of your pale shadows,
O wan seasons, queens of our clime
— Unless it be to deaden suffering, side by side
In a casual bed, on a moonless night.

🎶Help, I have done it again
I have been here many times before
Hurt myself again today
And, the worst part is there's no-one else to blame🎶
🎶Be my friend, hold me
Wrap me up, enfold me
I am small and needy
Warm me up and breathe me🎶
🎶Ouch I have lost myself again
Lost myself and I am nowhere to be found
Yeah I think that I might break
Lost myself again and I feel unsafe🎶
🎶Be my friend, hold me
Wrap me up, enfold me
I am small and needy
Warm me up and breathe me
Be my friend, hold me
Wrap me up, enfold me
I am small and needy
Warm me up and breathe me🎶
