das dorf borschemich, zwischen köln und aachen gelegen, wird derzeit für den braunkohletagebau garzweiler ii abgerissen. von einstmals 760 Einwohnern leben jetzt noch 9 menschen hier. im frühjahr 2016 wird das gesamte dorf vom erdboden verschwunden sein.
the village of borschemich, situated in the west of germany between cologne and aachen, is being demolished to make way to the lignite open pit "garzweiler ii". formerly 760 inhabitants lived here, today in autumn 2015 9 people hold the line. during spring 2016 the whole village will disappear from earth.
