Where engineering meets poetry: Grønvollfoss Power Plant stands quietly by the Tinnåa river, its dam mirrored in a glass-like surface. Morning mist drapes the hills, softening the industrial lines into a serene composition. This hydroelectric station is part of Norway’s renewable energy backbone, harnessing the power of water to light up homes while preserving the harmony of nature.

Fun Fact

Grønvollfoss kraftverk was commissioned in 1933 and remains an important hydroelectric facility in Telemark. Norway generates over 90% of its electricity from hydropower, making scenes like this a symbol of sustainable energy.

Prime Future World - The Tower Of Winds by Daniel Arrhakis (2016)

With the video and music : A futuristic vision of what the future might be like with the help of Hollywood ! Not all good i am afraid ...

In Prime Future World, Energy Fossil belongs to a past ... a dramatic recent past, which almost led to the extinction of many species and a destructive Global War.

Everything changed in Prime Future World, all energy is renewable, wind, solar, sea waves and mainly Hydrogen technology are now the main sources.

Although clandestinely used by some, the use of Energy Fossil is forbidden.

The third commandment in Prime World:

All Energy is essential for life, is a vital resource for all citizens and renewable. The use of carbon sources are a global crime.

A wonderful weekend dear friends ! : )

In my region in Portugal we have again 40 º Celsius, almost 104 ºF and in next Tuesday/Monday 44 º C almost 111 º F ...... in September !!

The sun partially blocked by a few metal arms of an eletricity transmission tower provided a shot that bodes well with a solar power theme.

Seen in the manicured grounds of Blenheim Palace, a World Heritage Site, the picturesque cascade is at the confluence of the Rivers Evenlode and Glyme (and the downstream exit from the Great Lake). I do not know of a name for the delicate little bridge seen below the cascade. The building beside it is a pump house.

The 3.2m-high dam, originally constructed by the renowned Georgian landscape architect Lancelot Capability Brown in 1760, was rebuilt over 20 weeks in 2009 at a cost of over £100,000, following evidence of weaknesses becoming very apparent.

In 2014, the year after my visit, a 10m Archimedean screw was built into the dam (on the right above, amidst the large boulders) to harness the energy from the cascade and to supply homes within the Palace estate with 78,000 kWh of renewable energy per year.

The screw is turned as water flows through it, activating the turbine and harnessing up to 87% of the energy from the falling water. The screw was selected for its low impact on the river’s ecosystem and its efficient energy production. It was estimated at the time that it would save some £15,000-18,000 in energy costs - no doubt a lot more today in light of current price rises!

Skytrain Ride = Key to Reducing Emissions

Black and white view of a futuristic solar panel structure in Budapest, Hungary, capturing clean energy innovation.

We are entering our first global energy crisis. It’s a New World Order green energy transition. In the Seventies we manufactured an oil crisis, but now we are engineering an oil crisis, a natural gas crisis, and a coal crisis. Therefore we must now put an emphasis on green energy, renewables, and energy efficiency. We don’t need to choose between a manufactured energy crisis and an engineered climate crisis, because we not only manufacture the problems but also the solutions. Indeed, we are currently causing five interwoven crises—the Russian/Ukrainian crisis, the energy crisis, the food crisis, the inflation crisis, and the climate crisis. All New World Order stakeholders in the global ecosystem must work towards making a better world—an authoritarian world in which we set the stage for the Beast.

Turn ye from yer wicked ways. As ye know, we be coming t’ th’ end of days. Yo-ho, see th’ signs. Yo-ho, use yer minds. Babylon ye shall fall, ye shall sink, God’s wrath ye shall drink. Yo-ho! Yo-ho!

As countries undemocratically move towards implementing their New World Order goals of a net zero future, urban areas will evolve into smart ghettos. We’ll transform this world into one big community of Agenda 21 smart cities. We’ll use community-led initiatives to make Personal Carbon Allowance Programs palatable and socially acceptable to the sheep. We’ll promote an authoritarian system for tracking your carbon emissions. The levers of mass formation psychosis will be much more impactful through global citizen re-education programs. There has been much advancement in Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies such as AI and machine-learning. These technologies will play a key role in tracking your lifestyle emissions, so that you can make ethical decisions. AI will monitor your consumer habits by using your historical and real time data, providing recommendations for your needs. AI will provide an in-depth analyzes on the choices you make for food, transport, and utilities. Energy efficiency apps will provide statistics about your lifestyle emissions, helping you to reduce your consumer-related footprint. Awareness of your home energy consumption will help you change your lifestyle, thus you can do your part in saving the planet. Eventually AI will control every aspect of your life. It will plan out your days. It will control how long you sleep and what you eat. It will control your home utilities. We must be willing to change how we live and work, so that we can combat the effects of geoengeneered climate change. For a greener tomorrow we must lower our lifestyle emissions. We must lower our expectations and become a lifestyle emissions slave. Climate crisis rationing, do your part to save the earth! You are nothing but bottom feeders, carbon polluters! Our plan is not only to depopulate the earth but to replace humanity with human-machine hybrids. It’s for the greater good of the planet! You will be deemed obsolete, because you aren’t part of a sustainable future—net zero human-machine hybrids are the future. Survival of the fittest—Outwit, Outplay, Outlast!

You’ll be a digital slave in a digital gulag, socially engineered and controlled by a Social Credit Score System. Smart ID’s-smart currency. Hello world! Hello facial recognition and biometrics! Hello surveillance society! The future definitely doesn’t look dystopian, now does it!?! Smart cities-to smart homes-to smart people (transhumans). Smart chip-smart people-controlled sheep. “Disaster will be inescapable, as if a man ran from a lion only to meet a bear, then escaped into a house, leaned his hand against the wall, and was bitten by a poisonous snake.”

Since the globalists are possessed by the spirit of antichrist, they are paving the way for the eventually reign of the Antichrist.

David Spangler: “We do not want another committee, we have too many already. What we want is a man of sufficient stature to hold the allegiance of all the people and to lift us up out of the economic morass into which we are sinking. Send us such a man, and whether he be God or devil, we will receive him.”

If you take the Mark (666) your mind will be changed from that of a man, to that of the Beast, till seven times pass by for him. Seven will be the Dragons years. The Beast will say, “Is this not Babylon the Great, which I myself have built by the might of my power as a royal residence and for the glory of my majesty?” However, a proclamation will be made: “Fallen, fallen is Babylon the Great! She has become a dwelling place for demons, a haunt for every unclean spirit, a haunt for every unclean bird, a haunt for every unclean and detestable beast.” Then the handwriting will be on the wall:

“God has numbered the days of your reign and has brought it to an end.”

“You have been weighed on the balances and have not measured up.”

Your kingdom has been given to another.

“And I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse, and the One seated on it was called ‘Faithful’ and ‘True,’ and with justice He judges and makes war.” “And the Beast was seized, and with him the False Prophet who performed the signs before him, by which he deceived those who received the Mark of the Beast and those who had worshiped his Image. The two were thrown alive into the lake of fire that burns with sulphur.” “In the time of those kings, the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed, nor will it be left to another people. It will crush all those kingdoms and bring them to an end, but it will itself endure forever.” “Whoever has ears, let them hear.”

I promise one day i will grow up. [maybe tomorrow]

The Alila Villas Uluwatu is a truly spectacular resort. It is by far the most breathtaking hotel I've ever seen in terms of design. When most luxury hotels and villas in Bali are capitalizing and over-exploiting stereotypical Balinese cultures by superficially (and literally) using a thatched roof to legitimate a "local feel", Alila Villas Uluwatu braves the norm and goes to a place where no one has ever stepped foot before. Not only it goes contemporary, but it runs the extra-mile and goes green.

For those who are still trapped in the era of Princess Diana walking down the aisle of St. Paul's Cathedral, the term green here does not literally means putting several green shrubs, palm trees, and acres of green carpets as a validation of being ecological sustainable. Unfortunately, most developers still exploit this term in its most literal sense and strive to convince potential buyers that a portrait of a garden means green living and thus they are saving the world. Yeah, and Men were from Mars and Women from Venus, and we can fight poverty for good.. big terms without realistic implications..

Alila Villas Uluwatu has a clear vision from the start and executed it well. It aimed at becoming a modern resort that is both environmentally sustainable and certified by Green Globe, and achieved it in 2009 as the island's first. With Asia's prominent award-winning architect at the helm, WOHA of Singapore, it is very assuring that the resort has been meticulously designed to follow the right criterias of a Green building; and the result is simply stunning. Being green has not hindered Alila to become just as glamorous, sophisticated and irresistable.

Not only all materials were sourced locally, alot of them were recycled materials that were gathered from auctions within the country, i.e.: old timber telegraph poles and wood railway sleepers. Local volcanic stones (Batu Chandi) is also being used as natural insulation for roofs but at the same times provides aesthetic purposes. And this goes on with water conservation, water heating system, and so on.

Alila Villas Uluwatu does not only rely on inner beauty to impress. It's physical beauty is just as mesmerizing. It's like finding a brainy supermodel that does real charity work and helps the poor pro bono.

After getting lost a couple of times before reaching the resort due to its remote location, I finally arrived and was instantly blown away by the design. It is like no other resort. It looks as if I'm walking on a set of a sci-fi movie. It's breathtaking, visionary, modern and beautifull all the way. Well, granted it doesn't scream Bali (thatched roof, etc), but it's great to see a nice change with a substance. Absolutely unforgettable..

All three photos posted this morning were taken yesterday, 10 October 2015, during a day birding trip east of Calgary. A usually happens when we search sloughs/ponds, the birds were all too far away to take photos of them. Instead of a list of the bird species seen, I will add our leader, Terry Korolyk's, detailed account of where we saw what. Thanks so much for this, Terry, and for taking us on another great day of birding!

"Ralph Klein Park is a 30 hectares wetland park in the City of Calgary, Alberta. It is named after former premier of Alberta and mayor of Calgary Ralph Klein. Construction started in 2009, and the dedication ceremony was on July 19, 2010." From Wikipedia.

calgaryplaygroundreview.com/ralph-klein-park-and-the-oise...

"A small, but, very experienced troop of 5 birders turned up for today's Field Trip going east of Calgary. The only bird of note at Glenmore Reservoir when we met was a Common Loon. From there, we left eastward stopping firstly by the City of Calgary Landfill. Good numbers of Gulls, but, amongst all the Ring-billed Gulls were only a few California Gulls. There may have been 1 juvenile Herring Gull. From there, we headed eastward ending up at the Walmart Parking Lot at 17 Avenue and Stoney Trail, where there was a flock of possibly a couple of thousand Gulls. We checked them out. All were Ring-billed Gulls except for 2 FRANKLIN'S GULLS. At October 10, it's getting a bit late for this species. It looks like the good weather has had most of them leave already.

From there, we moved on to Chestermere Lake. A regular staging area for Common Mergansers in the Fall, probably 350 were in the north end of the Lake. Also of note were about 50 Bonaparte's Gulls There was nothing much off Sunset Park on the east side of the Lake. From the Dam, we found 2 Common Loons on the far west side; these were probably the same birds that were there a week or so ago. Also, there were 2 adult HERRING GULLS. We also heard here one of our only 2 Red-tailed Hawks of the day.

Between the north end of Chestermere and Sunset Park, we went over to McElroy Slough on the other side of Highway One. Upon arrival, we were rewarded with a superb view of an adult NORTHERN SHRIKE. Piles of waterfowl on the slough, but the only birds really of note were 5 BARROW'S GOLDENEYE which included 3 adult males. Other than those, there were extremely large numbers of American Wigeons there today. This seems to be a favorite Fall staging area for this species. Ring-necked Ducks also were still in good numbers there; this species has been hanging on there this Fall. A WESTERN MEADOWLARK was also heard there.

From the Dam at Chestermere, we headed over to Highway One and 791. Gadwall dominated here with 450 birds. We continued north on Highway 791 turning east on Inverlake Road. Along here, we had the best bird of the day, a PRAIRIE FALCON moving westward--we had great looks at it flying. The slough south of the road at Range Road 275 was so congested with American Coots, we couldn't estimate the numbers.

We didn't see much else of note until we were approaching Langdon on Highway 560, when we watched an adult light-phase Eastern Red-tailed Hawk soar over the intersection. Weed Lake had our only shorebirds of the day with 6 tossed about as a number for Greater Yellowlegs; probably 500-600 Dowitchers, and 1 LESSER YELLOWLEGS; October 10 around these parts is getting on for this species.

From Weed Lake, we returned to Langdon, driving south, then west on Twp. Rd. 232. A male Ring-necked Pheasant was a surprise find along the road going westward.

The large slough east of Shepard didn't hold much, except for possibly 3 BLACKBIRDS, so we moved on to Ralph Klein Park. Large numbers of waterfowl again, almost all resting, particularly Northern Pintail (mind-boggling numbers), and Canada Geese. There were 6 SWANS there today, but because of the distance and wind, we could only identify one of them -- an adult TRUMPETER. At the south end of the Park, a Merlin added to our day's total."

This batch of LED bulbs (from Screwfix) has finally replaced the remaining low voltage filament bulbs in our house. The current price of electricity makes the saving payback very quick.

LED lights come in various colour "temperatures". These are 'warm white' and replicate the sort of warm/yellow light you get from a filament bulb. Others are a bit harsh, the 'daylight' light ones are horrible to my eyes!

Nature and resorts are not my cup of tea; and for the past decades, my idea of gateaway is that of concrete jungle metropolis. It was only last year that I started to venture away from my habit and hit the nature grounds in Bali. That's when I truly got hooked up with its charm and magic.

Within a year, I've tried and visited many resorts around the island, including The Bvlgari, St. Regis, The Conrad Suites, Ayana / Ritz-Carlton, Grand Hyatt, The Laguna, Westin, etc.. and The St. Regis is my perennial favourite that I've stayed there a couple of times already.

It was my recent trip to the island of god that I finally found one resort that is truly breathtaking in both setting and design, that it took my breath away. It is certainly the best looking resort I've seen so far, and all the sudden, The Bvlgari seems quite ordinary...

More to come soon..

Wind energy is renewable and doesn't cost a thing! The kinetic energy held by wind is transformed in form of electricity by turbines. Using windmills, wind power is converted directly into energy for agricultural purposes such as grain grinding and water pumping.
