prose by Rene Salvador ©
i imagine you weightless.
as i scour through the shores of eternity
as i carry with me the heart of unrest
as i encase in my hand the dust of conquered thoughts.
I imagine you absorbing my words
my dear, write about me
before I vanish into the distance
before this untold story disappears.
let me grasp your mind once more
before my hands cease to linger in this valley
let me read your eyes once again
before the memory of your soul fades away.
write about me, before my grasp is never felt
before my voice in the wilderness is never heard
let me feel you once more
but without holding, and only seeing
the naked soul you once bore to me.
and For a moment, let me say this
… never forget me.
and please, never grasp my words or voice
never grasp my thoughts or mind
never grasp my touch or feel
never grasp my eyes or sight,
never grasp my spirit or ghost
and please, never grasp my heart or breath…. At least not
for this moment
(at least not while we spread our goodbyes)
i have roamed through the surface of eternity
and wondered through beginnings and through everlasting ends.
i have scoured through the lost and broken
and in between the dead lovers quarrels
and the dwelling rattle of their swords
all I could do
was think of you.

Conforming can't ever be considered the preferred outcome of learning, since knowledge by itself is meant to give you the ability to go beyond the treaded path. My latest blog, under the series Redivivus, tries to articulate this in a poetic yet blunt encapsulation.
