A view from St Aldhelms Head towards Emmett's Hill, Houns Tout and Swyre Head.
I like the cloud rolling over the top of Swyre Head in this one.
I suppose it had to be done; my contribution to the bluebell theme. The scent was heavenly and the bluebells wonderful at this special National Trust garden near Sevenoaks in Kent.
Every spring the floors of the woodland are transformed into a carpet of blue as the English native bluebells come into bloom. These delicate little flowers make a wonderful sight and are not to be missed on a visit to Emmetts Garden this spring..
Digitalis is a genus of about 20 species of herbaceous perennial plants, shrubs, and biennials, commonly called foxgloves.
Beautiful but deadly. This familiar flower has the power to cure and kill..
Empties for Emmett work their way down the southernmost end of the CSX Logan Subdivision below Man, West Virginia.
Emmett Leo Kelly was an American circus performer, who created the clown figure "Weary Willie," based on the hobos of the Great Depression in the 1930s. According to Charles W. Carey, Jr.: Kelly’s creation of Weary Willie revolutionized professional clowning and made him the country’s most familiar clown.

from Australia visits Funky in the Netherlands for the 1st time.
Funky waits at the fairy gate in Mummy Marian's garden. By now it has become evening.
FUNKY:
I hope Emmett hasn't forgotten me.
It is getting cold and dark and it is starting to rain and I am getting (yawning) a bit tired.
When Funky is almost asleep, a bright light falls across his face.
He looks at the fairy gate and sees, behind a misty curtain surrounded by brightly coloured stars, an apparition that looks like Emmett.
FUNKY:
It's him....it must be him....it's Emmett!!!!
Emmett...it's me (waves tp Emmett)....Funky!!!
Give me a paw...I'll help you through the gate.
I'm so glad to see you!
Come, I'll show you Mummy Marian's garden and then we'll have honey tea and eat a chocolade cake
EMMETT:
(Still a little dazed from the journey )
I was excited to go through the gate, but I'm here and I'm so happy.
Will I get to meet the other bears too?
FUNKY
Yes of course...we are going to do a lot!
Thank you www.flickr.com/photos/40262251@N03/ for the use of your photo of Emmett in my photomontage
Charming Emmetts is an Edwardian estate that was owned by Frederic Lubbock. Take in the spectacular views of the Weald of Kent and enjoy glorious shows of summer flowers and shrubs,The garden is set up high in the Kent Weald with beautiful views of the surrounding countryside
The walk along the clifftops towards St Aldhelm's Head was a joy but looking ahead I don't like the look of that steep drop and immediate climb!
An unexpected and rather colourful sunset upon Emmetts Hill taken last weekend. The conditions were a little drab for the hour or so sat here, the burst of colour seemed to spring from nowhere and was gone just as quickly.

Hello my friends. My post today is in remembrance of Emmett Till. My own thoughts and feelings about his brutal demise that happened in 1955. That number looks old but it really isn't. Not old enough to heal the wounds of what took place. A 14 year old beautiful life that never got to reach full potential.
I dedicate this post to express the heartache, sadness, disbelief, & rage I felt when I first came upon his story and read about his life and his death. There is no words that can express the grief I have felt over his death. I wanted to show those feelings in my own creative way today.
This comes about as recent news posted in the media as of yesterday brought about another revelation. One that i am not shocked to hear about.
If you are a sensitive soul or one in denial about the awful injustice that has taken place in this country throughout these years my post most likely will not be one you would be interested in. Not everyone will agree with me.
But, I hope that one day tragedies like this will not occur and no matter how long ago an injustice has been committed that the wrongs that can be fixed will. We cannot forget as we all know history forgotten will repeat itself. Thank you my friends and have a blessed weekend, xoxo Ebony <3

Last of the Christmas images. This one looking over Chapmans Pool from Emmett's Hill. The light on the foreground rocks and foliage was illuminated from a small crack in the clouds directly above.

Emmetts Garden was open farmland until 1860 when the present house was built. The name 'emmett' is a local word for ant and refers to the giant anthills that covered the area until the 1950s. The house and land was purchased in 1890 by Frederic Lubbock, a banker and passionate plantsman. Lubbock's elder brother was John Lubbock, 1st Baron Avebury, a world expert on ants, which may have influenced his decision to purchase the property.[1]
The gardens were initially laid out between 1893 and 1895 under the influence of Lubbock's friend William Robinson in the fashionable Edwardian style popularised by Gertrude Jekyll.[1] The shrub garden was added later in 1900–1908.
After Lubbock's death (1927), the estate was acquired by an American geologist Charles Watson Boise. He made various alterations to both house and garden but retained the original character of the gardens.
In 1964 Charles Boise bequeathed Emmetts to the National Trust. Since then the trust has sought to maintain the botanical diversity of the garden developed by the two men.
Many of the old trees and shrubs planted by Lubbock were brought down in the Great Storm of 1987. Following the storm, which had the benefit of bringing more light to the gardens, the National Trust has undertaken a sympathetic replanting programme.
Description
The garden, which covers an area of about six acres (approximately 2.5 hectares), occupies a commanding site on a 600-foot (180 m) sandstone ridge, overlooking the Weald. One of the highest points in Kent, it offers expansive views towards the North Downs.[1]
It is mainly planted with trees and shrubs in the form of an arboretum; a magnificent 100-foot (30 m) Giant Sequoia (Sequoiadendron giganteum) fortunately survived the Great Storm. There is also a rose garden located next to the Victorian house to which the gardens once belonged. The house is not open to the public. Wikipedia
