IVF can be a complicated process with its success depending on several factors. The most important factor for success is proper implantation of the embryo developed via fertilization in a lab under controlled conditions. Unfortunately, embryos may fail to latch on to the uterine lining many a time resulting in a negative result.
While the actual reason for implantation failures is not always apparent, fertility.
Doctors find the following factors to be most important for determining the success/failure of embryo transfer
Quality - Not all embryos resulting from in vitro fertilization are of the highest quality. The best embryos are formed when the ovarian reserve is high with good quality egg and healthy sperms coming together. Proper stimulation of ovaries is also an important factor to ensure success
Infertility Type - Not all infertile patients are diagnosed with the same problem. It is necessary for the doctor to identify the problem and proceed with the treatment accordingly. Embryo transfer may be hampered when there are fibroids in the uterus or structural defects. Unexplained infertility often results in failure of implantation too
Age -The possibility of decreased implantation increases with age. Patients between the ages of 25 to 35 have the highest rate of IVF success that depends on perfect embryo implantation

Here is a picture of a chicken embryo that is 18 hours old viewed from a microscope. At you can see the vertebrates and spine of the baby chicken is already starting and you can clearly see the forebrain of the chicken as well.
The chicken embryo at 56 hours is highly more developed than at 24 hours. In this stage, the embryo begins to develop organs and become more complex. This particular diagram shows the embryo's tail bud, ventricle, optic cup and somite.

The 33-hour chicken embryo is more complex than the 24-hour embryo but less complex than the 96-hour embryo. It's amazing how quickly these embryos develop because even at 33-hours this embryo plenty of features and important components.
