This is a sculpture that's part of an larger collection in an even larger exhibit in Georgetown right now ("right now" being November 18th). It's a lot of student/non-professional art, and it's definitely worth check out.

 

This collection was remarkable for the way it took ostensibly natural objects (actually frames covered with bark, if I remember the brochure correctly) and turned them into the fertile bits of trees. It all seemed somehow slightly too biological, like the ship/cave/womb shot in "Alien."

Sprouts. Now if the mice will hold off. . .

I never remember getting this in a box of cracker jacks.
