An experiment in embossing, along the lines of a tutorial by Agnes the Red on her site at www.freewebs.com/agnestheredtutorials/

I used a watercolour background, a brass template of tulips in flower which I rubbed over with a glue stick and then heat embossed over the resulting glue. A couple of stampings using Stazon to go over the tulips. And a stanza from a poem called "regrets".

I wonder if I had used a water based ink for the womens head, wether it might have appeared behind the tulips. - an experiment for another day

A little chalking around the edge completed the card.

There's something fractured or shattered that I like about this filter.

I was inspired by an Anniversary card I sent my husband this year and so made these cupcakes that would be perfect for a wedding

Created using Core'dinations Cardstock.

I applied an Emboss filter to this shot while playing around. Once again the shot was from the observation level at The Eiffel Tower in Las Vegas.

Finally got my hands on some fancy embossing folders, here's the results. Vanilla cupcake with vanilla buttercream and fondant.

Ever since seeing these Embossed Leaves Socks in yellow, I've coveted a similarly hued version of my own. Also, this yarn is divine.

Embossed Leaves Socks

Pattern: designed by Mona Schmidt, Winter 2005 issue of IK

Dates: Began 9/23/06-Finished 9/30/06

Yarn: Louet Gems Merino-color Shamrock, 2 skeins

Needles: I started off wanting to try knitting with one long circular, on a 0 Addi turbo, but it was really slow going for me with constantly moving the stitches around, so I switched back to what I'm used too, Brittany 5" DPN size 1.

Details: Although the knitting with one long circular wasn't my thing, I did learn how to use the 1x1 rib cast-on which left a very neat edge to the top of the sock. However, I did notice that it is less stretchy than my usual long tail cast-on. I also worked on knitting tighter on my needles to make guage. It was hard on my hands in the beginning, but it got better as I got further along. After making a few pair of socks with both short row heels and heel flaps, the verdict is still out on which fits better, but I think I'm leaning towards the heel flaps.

The sock I'm currently working on--Embossed Leaves in The Sanguine Gryphon Skinny Bugga (purchased this past weekend at Maryland Sheep & Wool). The colorway is Honeybee. :)

Had some extra yellow and orange fondant, thought I'd try cookies. Sugar cookies with buttercream and embossed fondant.

I love these small decorations because they can make great gift toppers as well as tree or branches or wreath decorations.
