This former flower is now well past even having seeds. It is empty, and only the translucent husk remains. The torch has been passed to the next season, but the remainder still burns in sunset light.
This is very small, perhaps 1cm in diameter. Natural light. Minimal post. Hi-res if you want larger.
This evening I wandered up to the hill where we picked blackberries on Sunday, just because I saw so much of photographic interest up there and didn't have my camera. I'll have lots more from this shoot to post tomorrow. Goodnight everyone!
Update: kinda frustrated with Explore. Every day my photos are in explore, and every day they are dropped. This one popped in at 42...quickly dropped. Not sure if I will ever get one to stick again. but, of course, it doesn't matter, right ;-)

Last night we went out to the Top Brink pub, near Todmorden, for our tea with friends.
The remains of a small fire was glowing in the car park.
Of course I had to capture it… it was nice and toasty too against the cold misty night.

The Hastings Borough Bonfire Society comes down the sea front as the winds get up. Embers from the burning torches are being blown everywhere and soon conditions would get worse.
