For the curious, clicky types, you can also check out the raw screenshot on my blog, where I'm occasionally leaving small rambles.

I thought and thought about images I have in the Holiday colors and subjects. No Cedar Waxwings with berries - shucks, I haven't even SEEN a Cedar Waxwing this winter. No holly and ivy, all I could think of is my bright Vermilions, just had to find one with a reasonably green background or embellishment. So here he is, wishing everyone a joyous holiday season, and good weather, light and opportunities for the New Year.

The All Saints Church, erected in 1696–1698, is a fine specimen of Ukrainian baroque architecture. Characteristic of the church facades are rich architectural embellishments. In 1905, students of the Lavra art school painted the interior walls of the church. The carved wooden iconostasis is multi-tiered and was made for the All Saints church in the early 18th century.

They met at the annual Ghosts and Goblins Halloween Ball.

He was handsome, charming and every bit a gentleman.

And she was literally a vision in her flowing gown designed by icm.

It was love at first fright and they sparkled with it.

They pledged each other their hearts and lived happily ever after.

Which for a ghost is a very long time.

The castle stands at the end of a rocky plateau forming a spur thanks to the presence of a natural fault. Dominating the so-called four rivers country, it was the seat of an important barony from the Carolingian aristocracy of Quercy - the Castelnau de Bretenoux family - already in possession of a fortified residence in the vicinity in the 11th century. During the 14th and 15th century, the castle adopts its final configuration. The Clermont-Lodève family, who inherited the barony in 1530, undertook major works to embellish the austere château in the mid-17th century. This castle is one of the finest examples of military architecture from the Middle Ages.

I don't ever give a rat's ass about the official word of anything, Spring starts when the flowers start growing and the buds on the trees start to appear, that is Spring, to say otherwise is assuming one knows better than nature itself, when I hear this - the official start of Spring is such and such a date, I just laugh, walk in nature, she decides for herself when to appear in her own good time, sometimes enthusiastically early, other years fashionably late.

The Blue Grape Hyacinth, as tiny and delicate as they are, made an appearance in the front garden and I was thrilled, I love them, Spring is my favourite time of year, particularly May, but here we are in the middle of April, who cares when as a macro photographer's dream field is abundantly starting to arise.

I hope everyone is well and so as always, thank you! :)

I would be most grateful if you would refrain from inserting images, and/or group invites; thank you!

Lower Slaughter is a village in the English county of Gloucestershire, located in the Cotswold district, 4 miles (6.4 km) south west of the town of Stow-on-the-Wold. The village is built on both banks of the River Eye, which also flows through Upper Slaughter. At the west end of the village there is a 19th-century water mill with an undershot waterwheel and a chimney for additional steam power. There is a ford where the river widens in the village and several small stone footbridges join the two sides of the community. While the mill is built of red brick most of the 16th and 17th century homes in the village use Cotswold sandstone and are adorned with mullioned windows and often with other embellishments such as projecting gables. Records exist showing that Lower Slaughter has been inhabited for over 1000 years. The Domesday Book entry has the village name as “Sclostre”. It further notes that in 1066 and 1086 that the manor was in the sheriff's hands. Lower Slaughter Manor, a Grade-II listed 17th-century house, was granted to Sir George Whitmore in 1611 and remained in his family until 1964. The 13th century Anglican parish church is dedicated to St. Mary the Virgin. Much of the current structure was built in 1866; however, the spire and peal of six bells was recently restored. In May 2013 it was reported in the national news that the Parish Council were fiercely opposed to the presence of an icebox tricycle selling ice creams for seven days a week, six months of the year, citing that the trading times were excessive, increased footfall would prevent the grass from growing and that children could climb on the trike and fall into the nearby river.

The Slaughters Country Inn is privately owned and offers a relaxed ambience, a style that is sympathetically balanced between the original features of a 17th Century building and contemporary design. The blend of old and new creates the perfect retreat in a beautiful country location

I created the entire thing from scratch (built the shape and everything), so I'm kinda proud of it. I have to say, drawing is easier in AutoCAD than in Photoshop. If I ever figure out photo-realistic string/twine, I'll add it to this.

The paper is actually an old portrait photo card I laid over the cutout and then masked to shape. I burnt the edges and then hit it with a (brown) brush from Bittbox that turned out to have the awesome texture you see over what I thought was just a blank part of the brush (which is urban decay, I *think*). The bottom border is a stamp I made from a vintage children's book illustration.
