Asahi Pentax SP1000, CZJ Tessar 2.8/50mm, APX100, Wehner developer
This polished aluminium Tessar came with a Contax F (which is not operational), interesting lens.
Two of my colleagues in what appears to be a war-torn environment. It's actually a construction yard for a commercial photo shoot.
Here's Sarah in her party dress! (I do seem obsessed with little black dresses don't I!).
I was tasked with making a cake to reflect a shoe fan, who can't decide which shoes to wear ... or indeed which clutch bag to choose! (sounds like a girl after my own heart!).
By sitting her on a giant parcel I also managed to factor in a loopy bow - I have wanted to have
a go at a loopy bow for a long time - there are some fabulous examples here on flickr - I just hope I did them justice! ..... This bow by the wonderful Christina inspired me most - I loved the idea of a contrasting edging.
I had planned to do a big shoe on a shoe box but chickened out and went for my usual staple, safe option of a figurine and items reflecting her interests! - but huge thanks to Jules for letting me pick her brains on the big shoe idea (she is the queen of the fondant shoe!).
The black specks on the cake are the black glitter I used to bling up the shoes!
As usual, the figure face is modelled using Aine2 'heads up tutorial'. If you want to make faces like this you simply HAVE to buy Lorraine's tutorial on making heads!
'heads up tutorial' it's the best few pounds I ever spent!
12" x 8" cake on 15" x 12" board - vanilla sponge with strawberry jam and vanilla buttercream filling.
Hand bags and figurine hand modelled, for the shoes I used the Jem shoe template (Thanks to Liz for lending this to me again! - I've used this twice now, Liz hasn't even used it yet!)

These eroded bricks with embedded stones and pebbles are part of a wall in Pinkneys Lane, Southwold. They are not as high as modern bricks. I wonder if they are recycled Roman bricks. Any suggestions would be welcomed.
Bombardier Transportation/Vossloh Kiepe M5000 Metrolink 2-car tram Set 3093 on a Rochdale to Altrincham service enters the present-day Oldham Mumps "station". The unit has just taken the sharp curve off the line to Rochdale to the left - the original Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway heavy rail Oldham Loop from Manchester Victoria to Rochdale.
This is the final tramway configuration through Oldham town centre and in January 2014 replaced the interim route along the old LYR trackbed from Mumps to Werneth stations which ran off to the right. The tram tracks of this section can still be seen embedded in the tarmac of the A62 Oldham Way.
Until the tramway opened the Oldham Loop line ran across this view on a girder bridge & viaduct. I vividly remember seeing Black 5 45330 crossing it in May 1968.
Embedded in my heart is this amazing sunrise in Bogota, Colombia the day I left. Most of my Bogota photos were taken from my brother and sister-in-law's flat, which is located in a building in the mountains that overlook the whole city.
Have a glorious Sunday! I hope I can go take some awesome photos of Buenos Aires today, it is a great sunny day down here!

Embedded within a dramatic landscape at the meeting point between the Peruvian Andes and the Amazon Basin, the Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu is among the greatest artistic, architectural and land use achievements anywhere and the most significant tangible legacy of the Inca civilisation. Recognised for outstanding cultural and natural values, the mixed World Heritage property covers 32,592 hectares of mountain slopes, peaks and valleys surrounding its heart, the spectacular archaeological monument of “La Ciudadela” (the Citadel) at more than 2,400 meters above sea level. Built in the fifteenth century Machu Picchu was abandoned when the Inca Empire was conquered by the Spaniards in the sixteenth century. It was not until 1911 that the archaeological complex was made known to the outside world.

The open cluster NGC 6618 lies embedded in the nebulosity and causes the gases of the nebula to shine due to radiation from these hot, young stars; however, the actual number of stars in the nebula is much higher - up to 800, 100 of spectral type earlier than B9, and 9 of spectral type O, plus over a thousand stars in formation on its outer regions. It is also one of the youngest clusters known, with an age of just 1 million years.
The luminous blue variable HD 168607, located in the south-east part of the Omega nebula, is generally assumed to be associated with it; its close neighbor, the blue hypergiant HD 168625, may be too.
The Swan portion of M17, the Omega Nebula in the Sagittarius nebulosity is said to resemble a barber’s pole.

"Certain Slant of Light," by the American artist Sarah Sze.
Consisting of dozens of individual pieces of highly reflective stainless steel arranged in a fractured circle, the overall form recalls that of the Earth seen from a great height. The piece emerges organically from a grassy berm, its large and shimmering surface visible from near and far. Besthoff Sculpture Garden, NOMA, City Park, New Orleans.
I like the way some leaves become almost embedded or welded flat against gravestones after a few weeks. In the churchyard of St Edward the Confessor, Leek, Staffordshire
Gee, I wonder what statement I'm trying to make here.
Shot this Sunday less than 2 miles from the fires raging in Southern California. (The smoke was at my back, but I hadn't done a shoot in a bit, so I decided to give it a shot.)

There were gusts of 80 mph wind (according to the weather station). And one of the gusts ripped the large softbox out of my (and my assistant's) hands. It shot 20 feet up in the air and took off. We managed to chase it down before it disappeared into the desert forever and we wrangled it into the car.
It was fun times and mouthfuls of sand.
