I also had taken these photos that evening but did not get a chance to send
them to you as well. The last 3 photos show a 3-part picture of the entire
shelf cloud advancing towards the shopping center I am in. If you ever have
been to the Cullman Wal-Mart, there is a strip center in the back. Moxi Java
is a coffee store located at the end of that strip center next to a movie
theater. That is where I stood as I watched this system approach.
People in the stores around me heard the sirens and, instead of staying in
the buildings where they would be safest, decided to drive home and be on
the road instead. I had convinced the people in the Moxi Java store to stay
put, and they agreed they would not leave until the storm had passed.
We did not have any damage up here. there were some empty shopping carts
being blown around, but it did not appear to cause damage.

No, that's a metaphor, not that Great F*** Wall.
Yesterday night I got an email from Max Bemis with my song that he wrote me in it. Max Bemis is the lead singer of Say Anything and an amazing musician and lyricist. I adore him, he is the soundtrack of my twenties.
So you can imagine just how excited I was that I had recieved a song written by Max Bemis about me! Seriously it is just amazing and perfect. I wouldn't listen to it at first, I was scared it would be awful but it wasn't. It is so special and amazing and perfect. I am in love with it.
Not only that but I got an email an hour later from Max himself! I was floored! He even wrote my name (He started the email "Hey Maryam!") and I pretty much screamed. I am a total Say Anything Geek.
So todays photo is one of my fav lyrics from one of my fav songs by Say Anything, Woe. I did another couple of shots, one with a lyric from my song and one with a lyric from Tonight I am A Transylvanian but I liked this one best. If you don't know Say Anything I would say check them out!

I'm glad that I made myself 2 charts. One to chart the 2 kinds of drops in my right eye, and one for the left eye. It's the only way I can remember to administer the medicine.
Today I was able to see the print in the Learning in Retirement Fall 2012 Schedule in order to complete my registration. Classes start late on October 1 because a new elevator is being installed in the Continuing Education Building at Valdosta State University. I will be teaching a class on 5 different Mondays. It will be in the computer lab. Students will continue to learn about their digital camera, uploading pictures to Flickr, and using other websites to manipulate photos. I plan to show the students Aviary, Big Huge Labs, Pic Monkey, and Photo Booth.
