Playing With Light....
Christmas Eve Karen and I bundled up and made our way out into the falling snow, our plan was to capture some light painting shots of the snow fall and to try to be creative in the midst of a lockdown. this shot of Karen illuminating snowflakes falling in the park was a lot of fun to play with. I will post more shots of our adventure in the following days. keep posted. ..

This was taken the beginning of July at the Riverside International Friendship Gardens, located in La Crosse, Wisconsin. We were getting ready to board the La Crosse Queen Cruise, a paddleboat that goes down the Mississippi River, and we decided to enjoy a bit of their gardens nearby while we waited. These daylilies were just gorgeous, so big and bright! Hope y'all enjoy!

Furry Friends....
One November morning I ventured out quite early, it was very cold; typical for this time of year. i noticed a squirrel busy collecting and stashing his horde of nuts for the long winter ahead. he stopped his frantic behavior for just long enough for me to take this photo. then he was off at a frenetic pace scurrying about on his merry way.

Here are photos of the tornado forming, along with a description of each.
My friend, Nick Lee, is a storm spotter. He and I were out taking these
photos that day. He is the copyright owner and has given me permission to
share them with you.

Description of photos:
Tornado-1: shows the storm coming around the corner into view.
Tornado-2: Inflow notch seen - this is where the air feeding the updraft was
located at.
Tornado-3 & 4: Tornado on ground getting closer to City of Cullman. At this
point it was passing Good Hope and going through Cullman County.
Tornado-5: Here you can see another vortex forming. What we were witnessing
was a rapid intensification of this storm from an EF2 to a multi-vortex EF4.
Tornado-6: Even though the funnel is hard to see, the tornado was still on
the ground. Here you can see the multiple vortexes spinning around the one
in the middle that looks like it is invisible.

El mirador oculto de Tenerife en el que se puede ver el Teide sobre un mar de nubes:
En Tenerife hay un desconocido mirador que ofrece unas vistas únicas y totalmente diferentes del Teide. Desde allí se puede observar cómo el gigante volcán emerge de entre un manto de nubles blancas.
El mirador de Chipeque, el rincón de Tenerife donde ver el Teide sobre un manto de nubes
La isla de Tenerife guarda un valioso tesoro. Se trata del mirador de Chipeque, también llamado mirador Cumbres del Norte. Cuando el día está despejado, se puede contemplar el valle de La Orotava. No obstante, las vistas se vuelven todavía más llamativas cuando el cielo está cubierto.
Gracias a su elevada altura, que alcanza los 1.830 metros sobre el nivel del mar, las personas logran sobrepasar las nubes y ante sus ojos aparece un paisaje que se queda grabado para siempre en sus retina. El Teide emerge de un manto blanco que simula una especie de mar.

The second round of this year’s RogueOlympics over on RogueBricks was about exploring the 'Internet'.
I had barely any time last week for the ROs - some three hours on a Sunday night was all that I could manage. So here's a simple little tale about ignoring the internet, I guess.
Can you recognise all the services that the minifigure is walking away from?
The RogueOlympics require you to stick to 101 elements or less so this little scene was built with a total of 98 bricks. It’s always great fun to work around those restrictions as it’s so different from most other contests, so of course I had to join.
Six more rounds to go, we barely started! Feel free to join in on the fun!

Wow... well here it is
One year passed, and I'm stunned I made it through. I've heard that if you do something 45 times that it is officially a habit.
This was a fun habit
Why I started? To put the camera in my hand... success. To build my self esteem.... partially completed. To become a better photographer... only others can say if I have or not.
I have made some amazing friends through flickr & 365. Thank you, you know who you are.. for your comments, your emails, your support. You've helped dry my tears and made me smile and you understood me. Thank you!!!!

**update: here let me ramble, in case some of you feel like reading this.
-being successful makes me feel happy. views/comments/favorites/notes/testimonials/messages/emails make me feel happy. they let me know that I'm not just some loser out there that nobody wants to talk to. this photographic journey feels like its taking me forever to even begin. It's been two and half years and I don't feel I've progressed. I'm not known to push myself. but I'm not known to give up. photography is my passion, it might take me forever to get where I want to be, but I'll keep on keeping on. I guess I'm just reaching out for more support. as if i don't get enough, because I do...I'm just in this really awkward emotional period of my life, and it may very well be the reason I decided to take up photography. being in front of the camera feels like home. I'm so inspired by the work around me on here, I just hope I'm inspiring as well.
