Die Technik von Eltima (www.eltima.de/tropfenfotografie.html) verrichtet zuverlässig ihren Dienst. Die große Wanne ist klasse und auf das Thema Licht und Spiegelung passt wie ich meine ganz gut.
The technique of Eltima (www.eltima.de/tropfenfotografie.html) reliably establishes its service. The big tub is classy and on the subject of light and reflection fits like I mean quite well.
Ich musste mal wieder etwas spielen, die nassen und kalten Tage regen dazu an ;-)

It was my dream to play and created some waterdrops. And now it´s my first approach.
I think it´s not so bad ;-)
Thank you all for your nice comment, awards and favs..

I had to play something again, the wet and cold days rain on it;-)

Advent.
When it gets cold and uncomfortable outside, but still calls the passion photography, I often think of drop photography again. Blue is now the color of choice. My blue hour in the grey time.
Thank you all for the great comments and favorites. So healthy on into the 3rd Advent.

Strobist info:
Two flashlights (SpeedliteYn560-III) have been used for this shot. Both were positioned in-between the camera and the glass shot, one placed slightly left of the scene, and the other one right of the scene. Both flashlights were triggered by wireless remote control (Yongnuo RF-603C), and fired with 1/128 of their maximal energy for approx. 1/20000s. The remote control itself has been triggered by Jokie^2 IR-light barrier that detected the approaching bullet, while the camera shutter was open for 5s in a dark room. Note that the energy of the pellet was that low that it wasn't able to penetrate the glass, but kicked it away instead!
Shot with the help of a Jokie light barrier, a speedlight in a snoot as main and a 2nd speedlight with a blue gel against the background.
Quite some mess and fun! :-)

I did some splashes before, with and with out the Jokie Light Barrier Sensor.
But I never did them with only one flash :-)) So that was fun!
Nicer viewing: "L" for Lightbox, "F11" for Fullscreen ...
Shot with the Jokie lightbarrier in darkfield illumination -- newly processed.

Speedlight on the white wall, flag between glass and wall, two white reflectors on the sides of the glass, crossbeam sensor (Eltima, "Jokie").

NICER VIEWING
I uploaded a large lightbox version: Press L for lightbox and F11 for fullscreen ...
This is the setup for the cookie-milk-splash, triggered with the Jokie-2-Lightbarrier sensor (www.eltima-electronic.de/).

To try something new, I wanted to light this with only one flash. So this was a bit tricky. There's a flag, which sort of splits the flash in two halves. One with a blue gel and with a cookie for the background, one bare for the mug. On the other side of the mug, there is a silver reflector with some stripes of CTO gel glued onto it for some warmth.
RESULT
This picture as well as the following have been made by use of eltima electronic equipment at the Olympus Photo Academy event at the Wagenhallen in Stuttgart on October 3rd where the new OM-D E-M1 was shown.
I haven't taken these pictures myself. I got them (only JPG) as forunately I got the permissionto put my SD memory card into the Olympus OM-D E-M1 while these shots have been made. I just have added some FHDR processing and thought, the result may be interesting for the Olympus, OM-D and flickr community.
I really enjoyed the event, especially the possibility to talk to Nils Häussler and Toshi Terada from Olympus. So I hope you will enjoy the pictures in almost the same way.
After the Olympus event, I did a little bit of light painting with my E-M5...
And by the way... No, unfortunalely I don't get money, neither for placing the links above nor for posting the pictures. I just like them as well as the new OM-D. :-)

Yes, it may look ugly, but I am sure, that this is the fastest way to start with that little device ... to glue the parts together on something like a wishbone, with some SUGRU. :-))
And it works, as you can see in the middle! :-)

First test of my new Jokie light barrier. Seems to work fine... Details cmp.: www.eltima-electronic.de/jokie.html
Sorry, no setup shot this time. Well, the setup is like in the manual: light barrier, lemon slice falling through, two flashes against the background (white door). Perhaps interesting: latency of my EOS 500D is approx 30 ms, with mirror lockup: approx 23 ms. So I do not need to use bulb mode and flash triggering, I just trigger the cam (falling height of the lemon is 30..35 cm).
