SpaceX Launch with CRS-18 from OBS II Building on KSC 7-25-2019

A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket as it lifted 4 astronauts aboard a Crew Dragon into orbit for a rendezvous with the International Space Station. It was the third flight of that particular Crew Dragon Capsule and the first flight of the reusable first stage booster. The first stage booster landed safely back at Cape Canaveral. This is an image stack which shows the main path of the vehicle as it launched as well as the trail of the first stage booster as it fired its engines twice prior to landing. The images were taken from Vero Beach which is 63 miles (101 kilometers) south of the launch site.

IT IS NOT THE WORK OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

Who doesn't like playing with images???

Starship is a fully reusable spacecraft project, under development and funded by the American company SpaceX, whose goal is both to transport humans to Mars and to other destinations within the Solar System and the subsequent return to Earth.

A SpaceX Falcon 9 launching 54 Starlink Group 5-15 Satellites at 11:50 PM on July 15th, 2023. This was the last launch of the v1.5 Starlink Satellites to be added to the Starlink mega-constellation. The image was taken from Vero Beach which is 63 miles (101 kilometers) south of the launch site. This was the 16th flight of this particular first stage reusable booster which landed successfully on the barge A Shortfall of Gravitas. The barge was located to the north of the eastern Bahamas.

SpaceX launched the Transporter-3 rideshare mission to a sun-synchronous orbit with 105 small microsatellites and nanosatellites for commercial and government customers Thurday morning at 10:25 a.m. EST. The first stage booster B1058-10 completed its' 10th flight with a RTLS landing at LZ-1 on the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station

Two weeks ago, a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket carried to orbit the Inspiration 4 crew: Jared Isaacman, Dr. Sian Proctor, Hayley Arceneaux, and Chris Sembroski.

This is the first 60-ish seconds of their flight as it left Earth.

Pretty much everything about this launch was genuinely mind-blowing.

I've had the pleasure of interacting online with a couple of the crew members, and they're truly lovely people, inspirational adventurers in every sense.

This image is a tight crop of a much wider streak I captured from the roof of the Vehicle Assembly Building. I initially ignored this image because I clipped the top of the streak, mainly because I foolishly thought I didn't need to shoot a vertical frame. But this tight crop of the bottom of the frame works fine enough for this 2-week launchiversary.

Hands Off! protest signs in St. Paul.

The Minnesota State Patrol estimates 25,000 gathered at the Minnesota State Capitol this afternoon as part of the nationwide “Hands Off!” protests.

Protesters at the Tesla service center just outside of Minneapolis. Signs reading “Unplug Mad King Musk”, “This car runs on fascism”, “Who buys cars from a nazi?”, “Say no to doge”, “Don’t buy swasticars, BAD DOGE!”. Protest is part of a nationwide "TeslaTakedown" protest that seems to have originated on Bluesky.

Better late than never, right?

Delayed by work obligations, these are shots of the Thursday afternoon #CRS19 #Falcon9 #SpaceX rocket launch.

I wasn't able to attend the launch in person, but three cameras set at the pad Wednesday morning braved Florida winter (45 degrees at night = brrr) conditions to capture these images.

Many thanks again to my We Report Space colleagues for doing the heavy lifting for this launch, especially Mike Howard and Scott Schilke waiting around 4 hours after the launch to pick up these cameras.

SpaceX launch with 40 more broadband internet satellites for the OneWeb 17 mission at 2:13 p.m. EST from SLC-40 on the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. Booster B1062 successfully completed it's 13th mission with the landing at LZ-1.

No Kings Day Protest on the U.S. Capitol Grounds organized by the 50501 Movement. Notice that no Democracy loving people stormed the Capitol.

The Inspiration4 zero-g indicator "space puppy" found some battery-powered festive lights and came out to the beach last night for the SpaceX TurkSat5b Falcon9 launch. It was quite a show.

This is a single, 201-second image. I did some light painting with the iPhone flashlight, but the holiday lights are kinda too much (made worse by the humidity of the beach).

When I showed this photo to Lauren, her immediate reaction was outrage: "You took the doggie to the beach?" followed by "Where is the doggie RIGHT NOW?" (as if I had left the dog out there). But I'm obligated to state that no dogs (stuffed, or otherwise) were harmed during this shoot.

This was the scene this (Thurs) morning as the #SpaceX recovery team was removing the legs from the #ArabSat6a #FalconHeavy center core. The #SpaceXFleet returned to @portcanaveral at 2am, carrying the successfully landed first stage. It’s on its side (and the top is missing) after high seas caused the rocket to tip over.

Early morning launch for SpaceX, with the SXM-8 satellite for SiriusXM, at 12:26 a.m. EDT from SLC-40 on the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. Unfortunately the clouds did not clear out in time for the launch.

Under a huge moon hanging low in the icy sky, the snow glittered like scattered stars across the forest floor. Three gray wolf pups tumbled out of their den, their breath puffing in excited clouds. The night was still, save for the crunch of their paws and their excited yips echoing through the pines.

In the distance, a shadow moved—graceful, deliberate. Their mother emerged from the trees, her thick coat shimmering in the moonlight. The pups bounded toward her, tails wagging like metronomes, their playful yips and whines filling the air. She lowered her head, nuzzling each one, her warm tongue brushing away the snow clinging to their faces. They pressed close, a tangle of fur and love, their soft whimpers a song of welcome.

For a moment, the cold world softened. The wind sighed through the branches, and the mega-moon watched over the reunion, bathing the little family in pale, tender light.

Beautiful early evening for the #SpaceX launch with #OneWeb-15 mission putting up another 40 broadband internet satellites from LC-39A from NASA's Kennedy Space Center at 5:27 p.m. EST

Liftoff!!

That wasn't late thunder you may have thought you heard, Space Coast. At 11:38pm Saturday, #SpaceX sent Falcon 9 booster B1060 to space (and back!) for the 17th time.

It was a beautiful (and extremely buggy) night for a launch.

Shooting nearby were two great photographers and all-around great guys John Kraus of John Kraus Photos and Scott Schilke. Their shots are really terrific.

I cackled very loudly when I saw this. I hope the buyer of this POS was paid pennies on the dollar by the insurance company.

This photo was shot from Vero Beach as a SpaceX Falcon 9 finally launched the Italian CGS-2 satellite after having been scrubbed four times previously. Three launch attempts were scrubbed for weather issues and one was caused by a cruise ship that had entered the hazard zone.

The launch viewed behind some ocotillo along Highway 78 east of Old Kane Springs Road in Borrego Springs, California. According to the maps, this area is just barely outside of the boundaries of Anza- Borrego Desert State Park.

This was another epic launch to watch. And the clouds made it even more interesting. I shot this with a Canon 6D and Tokina 17-35mm lens at 1 sec f/4 ISO 3200.

The rocket that starred in tonight’s spectacular launch was the second of SpaceX’s next-generation Falcon 9, dubbed the Block 5, to refly. The veteran flyer had first delivered 10 Iridium NEXT communications satellites into orbit on July 25.

With the record setting 10th launch of booster B1051, SpaceX added another 60 broadband Starlink satellites to the fleet, not totaling more than 1600. Launch occurred at 2:42 a.m. EDT from SLC-40 on the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station

Snoopy, waiting patiently for the #Artemis launch and his flight to the Moon, took some time away from the Orion spacecraft Sunday evening to watch the #SpaceX Starlink launch.

This isn't the *actual* zero-g indicator, although I did purchase it from the concession stand at the KSC Press Site, so I told my daughter Lauren they're related.

Lauren has a lot of concern for Snoopy's safety during the upcoming Artemis launch. So, please don't tell her that Snoopy nearly feel irretrievably into the water last night...

Until today I don't know what it was, comets or maybe SpaceX, but anyway, very good times in approach

I took these photos last night from the Barber Bridge in Vero Beach (about 60 miles south of Cape Canaveral), at 12:42 AM as SpaceX launched a Falcon 9 rocket on the Starlink Group 4-12 mission. It deployed 53 Starlink satellites that were added to it's Starlink satellite internet constellation. The first stage booster landed successfully on the drone ship Just Read The Instructions. It was the 12th flight for this booster.

Liftoff!! This is a #SpaceX #Falcon9 rocket heading to space, launched at 5:27pm (EDT) Friday.

By the way, this booster has been to space and back twice in the last 21 days. No big deal.
