Storm Ellen and a 9.5 metre tide brought some drama to the waters around Fort Perch Rock last Saturday. As I battled the wind in a tee shirt it brought thoughts of my Nan who's name was also Ellen and whilst occasionally feigning fury with us grandkids, she was always warm and welcoming.
I will keep upload her pic until this epidemic meme fade away :P

The Ellen McAllister also won the "best looking" tugboat of the event.
A very famous "lost" Distillery - old bottles of Port Ellen are collectors items these days & change hands at auctions for a lot of money. It is soon the be resurrected & rebuilt.
