Even though my husband works at Texas Tech and my daughter has one degree from there and is going for another one, I don't usually follow their sports. However, I'm making an exception to that rule right now. Like everyone else in Lubbock, I was thrilled when their men's basketball team made the Sweet 16 in March Madness. The last time this happened was 13 years ago. I am really happy that Texas Tech beat Purdue last night (March 23, 2018)! Now we're in the Elite Eight - something that has never happened at Texas Tech before!!! I am so excited!!! We are scheduled to play Villanova tomorrow (March 25, 2018). Hope that we beat them!
I don't have any recent Texas Tech pictures available. But I did take this photo of a blue sign for Lubbock about two weeks ago. It's in downtown Lubbock, not far from my work.

My beloved Vols are in the Elite Eight playing for a birth in the Final Four today. So This morning I went to Stokely Athletic Center. This athletic complex was used by the mens basketball team from 1966 to 1987. It was almost pitch black as all the lights were off, only illuminated by the exit signs and a very back-lit advertising signs. I made sure that the Basketball Ghosts in this building new were were going to Kick some Spartan Butt today!
LETS GO VOLS

For the second year in a row the Wisconsin Badgers defeated Arizona. They're headed to Indianpolis and a Final Four semifinal against Kentucky.
Last year, they defeated Arizona by 1 point in overtime; this time the score was 85-78. After a back-and-forth 1st half, the Badgers dominated the second half, aided by a blizzard of 3-pointers as they made 10 of 12, including 5 by Sam Dekker.
They're headed for another rematch. Last year, Kentucky (which barely survived a Notre Dame scare today) beat the Badgers by 1 point. Kentucky is even better this year. But so are the Badgers. If there's anyone who can upset Kentucky this year, it's the Wisconsin Badgers, led by Frank Kaminsky.
Go Badgers!

It's March and the Madness is here! Hud can't fill out a bracket yet, but he is ready to hit the court! Not even 2 years old, and he is draining three pointers like nobody's business! The kid is a prodigy. Sometimes we just call him the Rainmaker. He sets up camp beyond the arc and lights a campfire. I told him he needs to start apartment hunting with as much time as he spends downtown.

We're not called the Florida Gators for nothing. I found this seven footer bathing in a shallow pond on campus yesterday
Burrell and Lavendar very emotional at the end.
