Questo "gigante" fa parte di un gruppo di 4 statue chiamate "Presenze", enormi figure umane, in polistirene e poliuretano espanso, rivestite in fibra di cemento.
Create dall'azienda Naturaliter nel 2011, queste sculture umane rappresentano dei giganti intenti a riemergere dai rifiuti, e sono sparse per il Comune di Peccioli.
Nel 2013, furono scelte, come scenografia, per lo spettacolo evento di quell'anno, al Teatro del Silenzio.
L'anno seguente fecero ritorno a Peccioli, in volo, trasportate da un elicottero, (una scena "felliniana" che a qualche amante del cinema potrebbe aver ricordato l’inizio del film "La Dolce Vita").

This "giant" is part of a group of 4 statues called "Presenze", huge human figures, made of polystyrene and polyurethane foam, covered with cement fiber.
Created by the Naturaliter company in 2011, these human sculptures represent giants intent on re-emerging from waste, and are scattered around the Municipality of Peccioli.
In 2013, they were chosen as the scenography for the show event of that year, at the Teatro del Silenzio.
The following year they flew back to Peccioli, transported by helicopter, (a "Fellini-like" scene that some cinema lover might have reminded of the beginning of the film "La Dolce Vita").

🇫🇷Ces chutes connues des populations locales ont été découvertes par l'écossais David Livingstone qui les dénomma Victoria falls en l ' honneur de reine d'Angleterre .
Certains les nomment Shungu na mutitima, d'autres Mosi-o-Tunya. Autant de noms évoquant "la fumée qui gronde" en référence au bruit de la cascade et ses éclaboussures d'eau.
Ce nuage d' eau est visible depuis des km .....l'eau du Zambeze arrive sur une faille.Le fleuve se jette dans la cataracte sur environ 1 700 mètres de largeur et d'une hauteur qui peut atteindre un maximum de 108 mètres pour s'échapper par un étroit canyon.
Elles ne peuvent ainsi être vues de face qu'à une distance d'une centaine de mètres ou en hélicoptère ou en petit avion
🇬🇧 These falls, known to local populations, were discovered by the Scotsman David Livingstone who called them Victoria Falls. Some call it Shungu na mutitima, others Mosi-o-Tunya. So many names evoking “the smoke that roars” in reference to the sound of the waterfall and its splashing water. This cloud of water is visible for km.....the water of the Zambezi arrives on a fault. The river flows into the cataract about 1,700 meters wide and at a height which can reach a maximum of 108 meters to escape through a narrow canyon. They can therefore only be seen from the front at a distance of around a hundred meters or by helicopter or small plane.
🇩🇪 Diese Wasserfälle, die der örtlichen Bevölkerung bekannt sind, wurden vom Schotten David Livingstone entdeckt, der sie Victoriafälle nannte. Manche nennen es Shungu na mutitima, andere Mosi-o-Tunya. So viele Namen erinnern an „den brüllenden Rauch“ und beziehen sich auf das Geräusch des Wasserfalls und seines plätschernden Wassers. Diese Wasserwolke ist kilometerweit sichtbar. Das Wasser des Sambesi erreicht eine Verwerfung. Der Fluss mündet in den etwa 1.700 Meter breiten Katarakt und in einer Höhe, die maximal 108 Meter erreichen kann, um durch eine Enge zu entweichen Schlucht. Von vorne sind sie daher nur in rund hundert Metern Entfernung oder per Helikopter oder Kleinflugzeug zu erkennen.
🇪🇸 Estas cataratas, conocidas por las poblaciones locales, fueron descubiertas por el escocés David Livingstone, quien las llamó Cataratas Victoria. Algunos lo llaman Shungu na mutitima, otros Mosi-o-Tunya. Tantos nombres que evocan “el humo que ruge” en referencia al sonido de la cascada y sus salpicaduras de agua. Esta nube de agua es visible desde kilómetros.....el agua del Zambeze llega a una falla. El río desemboca en una catarata de unos 1.700 metros de ancho y a una altura que puede alcanzar un máximo de 108 metros para escapar por un estrecho cañón. Por lo tanto, sólo pueden ser vistos de frente, a una distancia de unos cien metros, o en helicóptero o avioneta.
🇮🇹 Queste cascate, note alle popolazioni locali, furono scoperte dallo scozzese David Livingstone che le chiamò Cascate Vittoria. Alcuni lo chiamano Shungu na mutitima, altri Mosi-o-Tunya. Tanti nomi che evocano “il fumo che ruggisce” in riferimento al suono della cascata e ai suoi spruzzi d'acqua. Questa nuvola d'acqua è visibile per km.....l'acqua dello Zambesi arriva su una faglia.Il fiume sfocia nella cataratta larga circa 1.700 metri e ad un'altezza che può raggiungere un massimo di 108 metri per fuoriuscire attraverso uno stretto canyon. Possono quindi essere visti solo frontalmente, ad una distanza di circa un centinaio di metri, oppure con un elicottero o un piccolo aereo.

L'Aquila, agosto 2020. Sospeso fra la città e le fiamme, un elicottero dei Vigili del Fuoco trasporta il suo carico d'acqua appena succhiato da un laghetto, volando verso il bosco. Ogni anno questa battaglia si combatte fra chi ferisce il nostro Pianeta e chi deve invece tentare di rimediare al peggio. Da sempre i nostri comportamenti benedicono o maledicono la Terra su cui camminiamo. È ora di badare dove mettiamo i piedi!
L’Aquila, august 2020. Suspended between the city and the flames, a Fire Department helicopter transports its load of water just sucked by a pond, flying towards the woods. Every year this battle is fought between those who hurt our planet and those who must instead try to remedy the worst. Our behavior has always blessed or cursed the Earth on which we walk. It’s time to watch where we step!
🇫🇷 L'érable japonais , comme tous les érables, a des samares, mais ceux ci sont rouges....
Imaginez un boomerang et vous aurez une idée de ce à quoi ressemble le fruit de l’érable du Japon. Ces fruits ont tendance à apparaitre sur un érable du Japon d’un certain âge (10 ans minimum).
Les samares apparaitront après la floraison de l’arbre. Sur le plan botanique, les arbres du genre Acer ont ce qu’on appelle une samare ailée – un fruit sec qui contient une graine et une aile. Les érables du Japon ont généralement une samare à deux ailes, ou deux graines attachées l’une à l’autre, d’où la forme en boomerang. Les ailes aident le fruit à se disperser dans une zone plus large....
Vous avez peut être des souvenirs d'enfances de jeter ces samares en l'air pour les voir descendre comme les pales d'un hélicoptère.

Imagine a boomerang and you'll have an idea of what the fruit of the Japanese maple looks like. These fruits tend to appear on a Japanese maple of a certain age (10 years minimum).
The samaras will appear after the tree has flowered. Botanically, trees of the Acer genus have what is known as a winged samara - a dried fruit containing a seed and a wing. Japanese maples generally have a two-winged samara, or two seeds attached to each other, hence the boomerang shape. The wings help the fruit to spread over a wider area....
You may have childhood memories of throwing these samaras into the air to see them come down like the blades of a helicopter.

Imagine un bumerán y tendrá una idea de cómo es el fruto del arce japonés. Estos frutos suelen aparecer en un arce japonés de cierta edad (10 años como mínimo).
Las samaras aparecerán después de que el árbol haya florecido. Botánicamente, los árboles del género Acer tienen lo que se conoce como sámara alada: un fruto seco que contiene una semilla y un ala. Los arces japoneses suelen tener una samara de dos alas, o dos semillas unidas entre sí, de ahí su forma de boomerang. Las alas ayudan al fruto a extenderse por una zona más amplia....
Tal vez recuerde de niño haber lanzado estas samaras al aire para verlas descender como las aspas de un helicóptero.

Stellen Sie sich einen Bumerang vor und Sie haben eine Vorstellung davon, wie die Früchte des japanischen Ahorns aussehen. Diese Früchte erscheinen tendenziell an einem älteren japanischen Ahorn (mindestens 10 Jahre).
Die Samare erscheinen, nachdem der Baum geblüht hat. Botanisch gesehen haben Bäume der Gattung Acer eine sogenannte geflügelte Samare - eine Trockenfrucht, die einen Samen und einen Flügel enthält. Japanische Ahorne haben in der Regel eine zweiflügelige Samare oder zwei Samen, die aneinander befestigt sind, daher die Bumerangform. Die Flügel helfen der Frucht, sich in einem größeren Gebiet zu verteilen.....
Vielleicht haben Sie noch Kindheitserinnerungen daran, wie Sie diese Samare in die Luft geworfen haben, um zu sehen, wie sie wie die Rotorblätter eines Hubschraubers herunterkommen.

Immaginate un boomerang e avrete un'idea dell'aspetto del frutto dell'acero giapponese. Questi frutti tendono a comparire su un acero giapponese di una certa età (minimo 10 anni).
Le samare compaiono dopo la fioritura dell'albero. Dal punto di vista botanico, gli alberi del genere Acer presentano la cosiddetta samara alata, un frutto secco contenente un seme e un'ala. Gli aceri giapponesi hanno generalmente una samara a due ali, ovvero due semi attaccati l'uno all'altro, da cui la forma a boomerang. Le ali aiutano il frutto a diffondersi su un'area più ampia....
Forse avete un ricordo d'infanzia di quando lanciavate queste samare in aria per vederle scendere come le pale di un elicottero.

Storia curiosa,
Australia, 10-12 persone arrivate in visita alla Bay of island, London bridge alto circa 25 m. Nel tornare dalla punta, una coppia di innamorati leggermente in ritardo venne isolata dal gruppo per il crollo del suddetto ponte 1990. Vista l’impossibilità di recupero chiamarono l’elicottero di soccorso da Melbourne (220 km). Dopo un ora arrivarono 2 elicotteri, uno di soccorso e l’altro della TV che riprese e documentò il tutto. La coppia salvata continuava a coprirsi in volto. Il giorno dopo i telegiornali riportarono la notizia. Venne così scoperto che la coppia erano amanti entrambi sposati.
