Usually in winter, I photograph birds outside, but the kowhai tree flowering last spring was incredible... and the best view is from inside, where it's elevated and I can photograph straight into the tree. So I spent some time photographing through double glazing! Not my favourite glass... but... the glimpse into birdworld was too strong to resist :-)
Silvereyes are very communal birds, often visiting in small family groups and pairs. Some preening pairs are family, some couples, and some just dating ;-) If one preens too roughly the moment is soon over!
I glimpsed this pair through my lcd quite far back in the tree... I didn't see them at all with my bare eyes. They were there maybe only a minute, but seeing minutes like these makes a lot of happiness :-)
Here's to the world beyond the window...
and to moments of joy 🌼
whether quiet or aloud
my thanks for being here
on the other side of the glass!! :-)

Within my available 22 hours I was able to reach out to a few different locations, one of which has this view to the elevated train going along wells street. Stay healthy and safe! Regards, Udo.

Fishing huts viewed from a bridge, Hamnoy, Lofoten Islands, Norway, in winter light. I really wanted to do one of those daytime long exposures that some people love and others hate, but the vibrations of the bridge caused by trucks crossing made it impossible, and oh, there was that tripod crushing wind as well.

I want to apologize to my followers and sponsors for the lack of uploads and posts. I have been swamped with school work and college applications and it's been really stressful for me. Education is really important to me, but I know I have responsibilities. My uploads have been slow and I know, I'm trying to finish everything up, academically. I will soon be done with everything, but it's going to take a little time. I will continue to make posts when I can as often as I can. Thanks for understanding! xx

Chicago's bridges raise in desperation, sealing the belly of the city. The railways they support offering a glimmer of hope as their destinations now point to the skies above. The city's inhabitants shocked from C-19, and shaken by protests and riots cower in fear and shelter in place. The urban lensman dares to document and journey within.

One of the first photos to come from film from this amazing canyon. The colours are still good when it comes to this colour reversal film, I've just learned to tweak the photo so it is accurate before scanning, as it is too hard to get the right colours after scanning.
This scene is of a mountain range - two mountain peaks on a mountain range .
The way we were....

I've been thinking about this spot for a while. I wanted the symmetry of the reflection and the energy of the train, but there were always too many people when the light was interesting. So I finally tightened up the framing and waited longer.
