Taken with a 1980s specialty single-element lens called a Portragon, sold by Spiratone. It was intended to duplicate a 19th Century portrait effect where the center is razor sharp but falls off rapidly to the edges.

Obviously, this one is not sharp even at the center.

Ready for camping! The mattress topper is the Tananger from IKEA. The full size fits perfectly, and we modified an old duvet cover to fit. When we bought the pad, the salesperson mentioned that others have bought this pad for their travel vehicle, and some have had mold problems if the pad doesn't get aired out after every trip.

We also have some scrap foam from another project that is cut in a grid pattern that we put under the pad for longer trips. It gives extra cushion and allows the air to circulate under us when we sleep, to cut down on condensation issues.

S4 Craft & Design pupils are generating ideas.

With the prelim now complete pupils are turning initial ideas into concept models. Some pupils may have difficulty knowing where to begin with this part of the process. Some have generated so many good ideas they have to choose just a few and get started on the modelling process. Their final choice should be made for the Christmas holidays.

This is our privacy area. When we decided to convert the Element and forgo the tent, we realized we needed a place to change clothes with some measure of privacy. Our solution - a curtain rod perched between the 2 open doors and a piece of astro turf to keep feet clean.

The Doctor Who radio serial "The Apocalypse Element" is one of my favorite Sixth Doctor serials. For fun, I decided to redesign the original cover art with a slightly more modern twist.

It was created entirely from scratch with the exception of using a few Doctor Who screenshots.

Murphy, 29, from Patchogue, NY is pictured on the far left side of the back row. Murphy was killed by enemy forces during a reconnaissance mission, Operation Red Wing, June 28, 2005, while leading a four-man team tasked with finding a key Taliban leader in the mountainous terrain near Asadabad, Afghanistan. The team came under fire from a much larger enemy force with superior tactical position. Murphy knowingly left his position of cover to get a clear signal in order to communicate with his headquarters and was mortally wounded while exposing himself to enemy fire. While being shot and shot at, Murphy provided his units location and requested immediate support for his element.
