This male BGG appeared to be in his element -- calm, confident, and satisfied -- living his daily life as "partner," father, and hunter. More than any other bird I've watched, this dad seemed to relish the partnership with his mate and being provider for her (when she transitioned to primary nest-sitter) and his five chicks. As a husband and father myself, I'm glad to have found a(nother) role model. Happy Father's Day to fathers of all species!

This photo was fun to envision but nearly impossible (for me) to achieve. Although this was the best I could manage and it isn't all bad, focus a half of an inch differently would have made this exactly what I was hoping for. This photo was accompanied by 300 photos of this exact section of this magnolia tree, but with, usually, no bird in the frame, or an unfocused blue-gray blob somewhere (often only partially) in the frame.

This archival image from December 2018, shows the flight James Webb Space Telescope "telescope element" (the mirrors and instruments) at Northrop Grumman, where it is being prepped for integration with the "spacecraft element" (sunshield and bus).

The Fifth Element has one of the most epic taxi rides ever captured in cinema. When fate drops into the back of Korben Dallas's cab (literally), it leads to a high speed chase unmatched for it's time. The bulbous flying cars have a classic style to them hearkening back to the early days of automobiles. This flying yellow cab and sprawling city landscape have been the inspiration for many sci-fi worlds, connecting familiarity with the future. The model is very strong, swooshable if you like, and comes with a display stand as well :)
