I have residency in the UK, but not citizenship. This means that despite the fact that I've been in full time employment since 2001 and paid my fair share of taxes, CO-OWN a home and pay my television license like a good little girl - I can't vote. I can go for my citizenship anytime now, and I am planning on doing it.

French presidential election 2022. Emmanuel Macron is elected President of the Republic for the second time, a unique fact under the Fifth Republic, excluding periods of cohabitation. But never has the far right, with the National Rally of Marine Le Pen, been so well placed in many municipalities. Travel to some towns and villages of the Gard, in Marineland. Big crowd of Americans and others gathered to watch the results come in. This event was co-sponsored by the American Chamber, The Wall Street Journal Asia, League of Women Voters and more groups I've forgotten.

Walking home from voting this morning. As you can see I am in the middle of the road.
All I have heard on the TB is how massive the turnout will be and how rabid the young vote will be. Well, from my vantage point in my little burg in a crucial battle ground toss up state, I am disappointed.
The Polling place was almost empty. The road home was empty and had this detour set of signs - note that the sign is directing the drivers into a ditch.
I suspect that either choice in today's election will direct us into a ditch.
I am not happy with the choice I have to make, but, I did make a choice. It is my responsibility to choose and vote.
Please do the same. GO VOTE. Hold your nose if you must, but vote.
GO VOTE.
Don't let others choose for you. Do not follow the detour into the ditch.

The 1968 presidential election is considered one of the most significant in history. Nixon’s win for the Republicans prompted a major political realignment. From 1933 to 1968, Democrats—riding the wave of New Deal liberal politics defined by President Franklin Roosevelt—won even out of nine presidential elections. But from 1968 to 2008, Republicans won seven out of ten presidential elections.

VoteEasy.org is a voter education tool that was designed to allow the general public to quickly and easily see how closely political candidates align with their views on 12 key issues. It utilizes thousands of hours of research and a vast collection of data assembled by the nonpartisan group, Project Vote Smart. It is the most up-to-date resource for candidate political information, including voting records, interest groups ratings, campaign finances, and personal biography.
The site allows visitors to interact with 3 levels of data, including exploring all candidates running in a particular state, those running in a specific district, and the individual details of each candidate.
As visitors rank the importance of 12 key issues, the lawn signs respond by jumping forward and back to show the similarity of their candidates.
