A film detailing the progress and history of MDC Alliance leader Nelson Chamisa in the 2018 presidential election, called PRESIDENT, produced by renowned filmmaker Camilla Nielsson, is set to be screened in New York City and Los Angeles in the United States this Friday.
Camilla Nielsson's team was in Zimbabwe in 2018 recording the events as they unfold before, during and after the elections, in which Mr Nelson Chamisa's party and supporters said the elections were rigged.
The 2018 general elections also came at a time when the former late President, Robert Gabriel Mugabe, who was a president of Zimbabwe for over 40 years had been ousted in 2017 by the military, which assured the public that the elections were going to be free and fair.
But that is not what happen, as the story says, as the military later shot several and killed six people who were protesting after the election.
Camilla Nielsson, who also made another film about Zimbabwe in 2014 called DEMOCRATS, also worked with a famous British actress Thandiwe Newton, had a Zimbabwean Co-producer in creating the film PRESIDENT.
Although the film is considered by some to be a reflection of the reality of the situation in Zimbabwe, others say it is largely based on one side, the Nelson Chamisa's side of the story.
