The last time I drove up to Edmonton, in April, I took my time on the way back. I took short trips on side roads a few times in search of new photo opportunities. In the heart of the small town of Blue River, I found this little lake.
Eleanor Meaning: Sun ray; Shining light.
I named my precious orchid this way because it has been a constant source of joy for the past three years, blooming more beautifully every year. When I go to Asia, my neighbor takes great care of it in my absence. It's more than just a flower; it's a loyal friend.

THE DREAMERS MEET
As the twentieth century was born, a burgeoning ‘motoring-set’ emerged from the Piccadilly-based ‘Automobile Club of Great Britain’ in London.
Prominent were Charles Rolls, aristocratic showman and partner of self-made engineering genius Henry Royce. Also, Claude Johnson, the Automobile Club’s original first secretary and John Douglas-Scott-Montagu, a pioneer of automobile journalism.
And Charles Robinson Sykes, a bohemian artist and sculptor. His friendship with the maverick group led to his creating the ‘Spirit of Ecstasy’ – an emblem that has stood as an internationally-recognized symbol of perfection ever since.
Theirs was a band whose thirst for experience made the London’s elite appear timid in comparison. And at its magnetic core was Eleanor…
AN ICON IS BORN
In 1909, Eleanor Thornton’s presence was crystallized in the form of an ornamental figurine, by the artist Charles Sykes. A figurine that, to this day, is an exclusive addition to every Rolls-Royce motor car, to encapsulate the pursuit of personal liberty, and freedom from conformity. Challenging the social conventions of the time, her appearance became instantly iconic. Known from then on as the Spirit of Ecstasy, she leans forth towards the wind, arms outstretched, her dress billowing as if in flight. A symbol of dreams – of energy, grace and beauty – the Spirit of Ecstasy embodies the heights pursued by a unique and progressive group of friends. And it remains a tribute to their vision and everything their timeless legacy stands for.
Now, her aura is free to imbue the dreams of all whose imaginations are fired by her legacy. As Charles Rolls’ desire permeates those creations that still bear his name, every statuette that slices the air atop a Rolls-Royce personifies Eleanor’s own tilts at freedom.
Whenever luxury affords us the chance to enjoy that same illusion, we will be in the company of Eleanor’s spirit. Leading now, just as she did then. An interesting tidbit I learned yesterday from a friend and fellow photographer, Roland Bogush flic.kr/ps/oioWC was that Charles Rolls was the first British citizen to die in a plane crash while he was flying a Wright Flyer in 1910 after it disintegrated in flight.

Our Henry the Second that is who lives in the garden at home with his wife Eleanor of Aquitaine -- see first comment box to see them both .
Found in a garden centre and with our Medieval heads we just had to get them .
1967 Ford Mustang. In the movie "Gone in 60 Seconds," the "Eleanor" is a customized 1967 Ford Mustang, often described as a Shelby GT500, which is the car that the main character drives in the film; it's considered an iconic movie car due to its unique design and appearance in the movie starring Nicolas Cage.
Storm Eleanor brought crashing waves to the West Coast but for Norfolk it was sand being blown across our wide beaches.

The Castle of Beynac is one of the best preserved and one of the most famous of the Périgord France.
It was built in the 12th century by the barons of Beynac who control from this place the roads and navigable waterways of the Dordogne. The transporters had to carry out a right of passage to the Lord of Beynac, thereby reinforcing the economic power of the latter.
During the Hundred Years War, it served as the French stronghold, the Dordogne serving as a border between France and England, it faced the Chateau de Castelnaud Taken by the English.

eleanor's bedroom, she's moved since this was taken
winter makes me feel so uncomfortable and i just want sun and breakfast at picnic tables and biking and not having to put on a coat and gloves every time i step outside
...my original set up. She is always interested in what I am doing in the shed.
She is not our cat but is a outdoor cat that belongs to our neighbor. She spends her days visiting both places..
Eleanor got this new dolly buggy last friday and has raced and rallied it and Iggle Piggle is trying it out here and Eleanor is having a fabulous time!
Operation Christmas Child Reunion.
Paul & Eleanor have been involved the longest with Operation Christmas Child here in Ontario. They are still involved to this day and run a little workshop on Mill St. in Kitchener, Ontario. There, they make everything from pencil cases to stuffed animals to give to children around the world.
They were my bosses the first couple years I worked on staff with OCC.
