Effervescent remnants of architecture and craftsmanship from the ancient city of Polonnaruwa | Sri Lanka
I was in a local garden last week, when suddenly they turned the sprinklers on everywhere. Needless to say, I did get wet :) But I took advantage of it and tried to capture the spraying water.
Zoom in and see if you can feel it :)

A plain brown bird with an effervescent voice, the House Wren is a common backyard bird over nearly the entire Western Hemisphere. Listen for its rush-and-jumble song in summer and you’ll find this species zipping through shrubs and low tree branches, snatching at insects.
The House Wren has one of the largest ranges of any songbird in the New World. It breeds from Canada through the West Indies and Central America, southward to the southernmost point of South America.
Found this cutie last year on one of my treks to California’s Eastern Sierra.

Fall in many parts of the world is considered to be the most colourful season, well I would add spring also. Yes, the early spring flowers are colourful and beautiful, but also the fresh bright green of leaves as they burst open are full of an effervescent colour unique to spring. This lovely, secluded, scene is near the village of McGregor not far from Windsor, Ontario.
It’s official, today is the first full day of spring, one of my favourite seasons. The buds on the trees in southwestern Ontario are still a few weeks away from popping, so I thought I’d share a photograph taken last spring. There is something magical about the burst of colour from the budding trees, I like to call it effervescent green.

The ever effervescent Ms. Alison Sparx was kind enough to join me again, patiently standing in place of a perfectly good chair. Probably shouldn't have oiled up before hand though....
Serious fumaroles and mud geysers at Hverir near Namafjall and Myvatn. The whole place is a living and breathing Earth lab showcasing a volcanic, ever changing landscape. The whole place exhudes sulphuric gasses and smells lovely like 10.000 foul eggs being hidden away there ;) :p. No wonder Icelanders were mining sulphur here in past times.
Levens Hall, Cumbria, England.
Levens Hall is the world's oldest topiary garden. Once upon a time it was just a stark fortified tower; by the 1690s, behind a high stone wall, an effervescent garden had evolved that is now a bed – and home – to 30,000 ever-changing plants.

House Wrens will gladly use nestboxes, or you may find their twig-filled nests in old cans, boots, or boxes lying around in your garage.

I decided to try my hand at oil and water photography. This is always a fun challenge, trying to get the focus just right while everything is moving and rearranging. I liked the effervescent mood and the colors. Have you tried your hand with this very cliché type of image?

My grandmother was surely delighted when, as a family with my 'sis and I just small, we used to go on an expedition into the countryside to gather cowslips for her to make wine.
Back then, any such booty in the countryside was regarded as free for the taking.
I have no recollection of the special taste of that wine but do remember the raspberry and redcurrant, a delicate shade of pink and slightly effervescent with a taste both innocuous and heady.
I believe the fruit for that was grown on grandad's allotment from where I also remember fat and juicy gooseberries, eaten straight from the prickly bush.

Thank you for your kind visit. Have a wonderful and beautiful day! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
It can be a bit intimidating asking a stranger on the street for permission to take a portrait, but this is exactly what I did on this occasion after a day in Newtown a few years ago. She was with her friend taking selfies next to a wall full of colourful but messy graffiti. After the usual minute of so of battling with my alter ego doing it’s best to convince me to walk away, I approached her to ask if she would like her picture taken. She kindly obliged and after after a few clicks we both really settled down and got the confidence to figure out some good shots that she and her friend would like with the light that we had left.
In this portrait, I elected a panoramic crop with a focus on the catchlight in her eye as I felt that the background was too distracting. The black and white conversion with a little grain applied seems to fit my mood lately so here is the result.
Have a great Sunday!

Well, Lynn Borich definitely is, and when I found this image in the archives from a few years ago it made me realize she still is effervescent. . .(and I'm a lucky guy ;-)

Casinos have been shaping Monaco and making it legendary since 1863. Today, Monaco remains the finest and most luxurious destination of all for high rollers and the general public alike, because its casinos are constantly reinventing themselves. Preserving tradition yet always innovating.
The ultimate way to discover Monaco. It all begins at the legendary Place du Casino, the vibrant, glamorous beating heart of the Principality. The square is home to the Casino de Monte-Carlo - the epitome of luxury.
The slot-machine paradise of the Casino Café de Paris, renowned for its innovation, is merely steps away. The nearby Sun Casino is Monaco's “Little Vegas”, while the Monte-Carlo Bay Casino sits inside an exclusive Resort.
Gaming, and so much more. Monaco has sustained its appeal because it has been reinventing itself since the end of the 19th century. Visitors from all over the world are drawn to the lively Principality for its extensive range of fun activities.
The casinos of the Société des Bains de Mer are no exception, each one offering much more than casino games or slot machines. With their lounge areas, gourmet restaurants and pop-up art installations, they are all places to see and be seen in Monaco.
