The Dead Man's Corner Museum is not big but it has a fantastic collection of war memorabilia including Dick Winter's personal effects from the war. Pretty cool.
I'd rate DMC Museum as small, a little over priced, and 65% gift shop/memorabilia sales... but nonetheless a must-see. It's cool to be in the house and look outside from the same view point as both German and American troops. And the depth of the equipment on display is really impressive. One bad criticism, however, is that the lighting and the little descriptions attached to the displays are VERY hard to read. I gave up trying to read many descripions because it was just too dim and the tags are not well placed for reading (crooked, at weird angles, etc.).
The back of the museum is a giant memorabilia store. I am not a collector and wouldn't know real stuff from fake stuff. Still, I couldn't help but wonder how much of the "real" stuff could possibily real. There was just SO much...

I accidently shook whilst trying to photograph an orchid stem without the flash. I then spent the next 10 minutes trying to make it happen - enough to make the photo interesting but not so much that it becamea total blur.
This is a layer with Multiply blending mode. It is exactly equivalent to a one-stop overexposure (burning) in the enlarger with film and paper.
1/1/11 - Week 1
Late last year, my friend Frank introduced me to a software suite from Nik Software. It opens up a whole range of possibilities in the digital darkroom. This is but one example.
Also submitting for today's Daily Shoot #412: "Make a photo illustrating a fresh start, a new beginning, or the first step to a goal."
Nice little hideout.
I'm waiting for another room to be cleared.
There I'll have a huge, old, vintage mixer
and all my other gear.
Until then this is my tiny setup.
