Pictured here is 1 of 3 styles of MRISAR's Cybermatrix (Robotic Tic Tac Toe), in the 7,000 sq. ft. former gym of the MRISAR building, in New Leipzig, ND.

Cybermatrix is an educational exhibit with a fun twist that will appeal to children and adults alike. Cybermatrix is based on the old game of Tic-Tac-Toe.

Click www.youtube.com/watch?t=1&v=e1kSY2AcujQ to view video.

The control panel on the exhibit affords the museum visitor the chance to interact with Cybermatrix. Once the start button is pushed the panel inside the display case lights up the center “X” then the visitors makes an “O” move. Then Cybermatrix compares the move that has already been made by the user to the board options for possible moves, then signals the arm in turn to seek an available square. When the square is in sight of the arm, it's finger light selects Cybermatrix's move by striking the board sensor with the finger light. The game continues until time runs out.

From a mathematical perspective the game of Tick-Tac-Toe is not beatable and should never have a better result than a tie. Naturally the logic of such an absolute is not appealing to the human element, so Cybermatrix has a few random patterns it creates to trick the exhibit into loosing occasionally.

A version of MRISAR's "Cybermatrix- Tic Tac Toe" is part of Popnology.

The MRISAR Team of New Leipzig, ND collaborated with Stage Nine by creating the robotics, interactive components and landscape for 6 Interactive Exhibits (Mars Probe Rover, Super Pentiductor, Cybermatrix-robotic tic tac toe, Challenge the Robot, a 5 finger Robot Arm Exhibit and a 3 Finger Robot Arm Exhibit) that are part of Popnology, which opened at the Los Angeles Fair in 2015. From there Popnology went to the Arizona Science Center in 2016. See links below for more information.

Popnology; from Science Fiction to Science Fact, is a new interactive exhibition that seeks to awe, enlighten and educate its visitors with outstanding displays of technological advances inspired by pop culture. It’s about how technological advances and pop culture have influenced each other. Other exhibitions are: the original DeLorean from “Back to the Future”; The Batmobile from “Batman Forever”; The iconic “Time Machine”; the “Terminator”; replicas of three different Mars rovers from JPL; and the HAL 9000 computer from “2001: A Space Odyssey.”

MRISAR is the most versatile Robotics R & D Team in the world. Team members are John and Victoria Siegel and their daughters Autumn and Aurora Siegel who joined the team as preschoolers. All four members are inventors and artists. Everything that MRISAR creates is designed and fabricated in their shops and labs by their team of family members.

In 2010 MRISAR, (a business that has Designed, Fabricated & Marketed the Earth’s Largest Selection of “Internationally Renowned & Awarded, World-Class Robotics Exhibits & Devices”; and “Hands On” Scientific, Technological & Interactive Art Exhibits), purchased a disused school on the plains of North Dakota and relocated to it. Profit from their International Exhibit Sales helps fund their Humanitarian R&D and the transformation of the 36,000 sq. ft. complex, surrounded by 10 acres in North Dakota, into a World-Class “Interactive, Robotics, Technology, Invention, Art & Nature Center”.

•University Scholarship Program

To stem the exodus from the Holy Land and more specifically from Israel, the FFHL is holding the ‘educational doors of opportunity’ open for the Christian community in the Holy Land. The Franciscan Foundation pays for 4 years of college including tuition and books for economically marginalized students who maintain a B average throughout high school. These scholarship grants are available to any student from any Christian denomination wishing to apply for a four year college program. The winners of the scholarship grants are chosen by the FFHL Scholarship Board made up of four professors residing in the U.S.

Each student selected must show a letter of acceptance from the university they are planning to attend and once that is validated, they can begin studies in the fall and payment for their school tuition commences.

In 2014, 124 (114 BA candidates and 10 MA candidates) students attended college on a scholarship provided by the FFHL at a cost of $575,000 paid by FFHL.

•Child Sponsorship Program

The FFHL conducts a Child Sponsorship Program to provide primary and secondary educational financial assistance for economically marginalized families who are unable to pay for their annual tuition of $500.00 due to economic difficulties. FFHL believes that every child should have an opportunity to an education and no one should be turned away from attending class. The child sponsorship program is a seven year commitment from the 6th grade through the 12th grade.

The children attend the Terra Santa schools, administered by the Franciscan Custody, which are unique because their philosophy is to bring individuals together without any bias either to social class or to Christian or non-Christian students in terms of educational activities. The schools acquaint the student with the values of family life and of society so as to benefit from both. Each school attempts to meet the needs of all those who are deprived physically, morally, economically, and to welcome them as family. The policy of the Franciscan Terra Santa Schools has always been openness and service towards all.

In 2014, the FFHL Child Sponsorship Program provided $109,000 for 218 economically marginalized children, who would otherwise not be receiving an education, to attend classes in schools in Jerusalem, Jaffa, Ramleh and Bethlehem.

•Magnificat Scholarship Program

Music Scholarships: FFHL provides tuition for young children who are gifted musically and wish to learn piano, violin, flute or composing. The Magnificat Institute in Jerusalem counts among its ranks 200 Muslim, Christian, and Jewish students, mainly children, who are studying various disciplines. The Institute has over 20 teachers and three choirs. The primary goal of the Institute is to foster encounter, dialogue, peaceful coexistence, and human and social development amongst people and children of diverse cultural and religious backgrounds in the Holy Land. Learning music in Jerusalem provides a very worthwhile alternative to otherwise difficult living situations in many families. The Institute is in effect a laboratory for peace and sharing , with teachers and pupils who are Israelis and Palestinians, Jews, Muslims and Christian, all united by music to build up a new Jerusalem of peace.

In 2014, the FFHL provided 15 students scholarships to the Magnificat Institute at a total cost of $11,570.

•Vocational/Technical Scholarship Program

Vocational/Trade Educational Grants provide funding for tuition and books for a two year program to learn plumbing, electricity, metal works, carpentry, auto mechanics, hotel management, telecommunications and food cuisine.

In 2014, the FFHL provided 25 students vocational school scholarships at a total cost of $32,500.

This happens righ after Ânia tells her parents

about her pregnancy. It’s very common

in Afria for parents to reject the girl

or to ask her to give their babies away.

Here, Ânia meets a friend who gave her

baby to someone elese and can’t see him

anymore, she asks Ânia to fight for her

The point here is to encourage girls to

Explanation on quote about education

The only purpose of life is nothing but education. It starts from the very young age, in fact from the fetus stage.

Balloon's Day Parade - Comic Strip Experience 2020

The immersive experience

Ta-da! The Brussels Comic Strip Festival has turned into an immersive experience in the impressive Gare Maritime at Tour & Taxis. The route, spread over more than 3,400m2 and combining breathtaking scenery and giant balloons, takes you on a journey through nine drawn worlds. It's an educational experience developed in collaboration with publishers and various partners.

Curious? Follow the guide.

9 worlds

Bob et Bobette/Suske &Wiske (Willy Vandersteen / Standaard Uitgeverij)

You start your immersive journey with Spike & Suzy (Bob & Bobette in French, Suske & Wiske in Dutch). Professor Barabas welcomes you in his strange laboratory. It is here that the famous duo reveals the secrets that link them to Brussels. What's more, Spike & Suzy are celebrating their 75th anniversary this year! It's a great opportunity to discover the new giant balloon bearing their faces. You can also see the heroes in their famous car 'Vitamitje' (Vitaminette in French), one of professeur Barabas' thousands of inventions, which appeared for the first time in the album 'De sprietatoom' (le Rayon Magique in French) in 1946.

Yakari (Joris Chamblain, Job & Derib / Le Lombard)

A very different world reveals itself to you here; that of Yakari. By the new giant Yakari balloon and in the setting of a real native American village, you learn the history of Yakari and his people. They have a rich past, full of history and legends, and have a lot to teach us about respect for nature and ecological values.

Yasmina (Wauter Mannaert / Dargaud) (French)

Go for a stroll through the big vegetable garden belonging to Yasmina. Salads, pumpkins, carrots, edible plants, ... Yasmina, a talented young chef, gives you her tips for 'good food'.

Discover the unique decor of Lucien et les mysterieux phenomenes (Lucien and the mysterious phenomena). Do you know Art Nouveau? Inside Mr Price's splendid building you will learn more about this architectural and artistic movement. The art of 'living together' is also a theme specific to his world.

Alternative comic strips

Ten young Belgian authors present their wonderful worlds. An exhibition introduces you to alternative comic strips with original works by Charlotte Pollet, Mortis Ghost, Gabri Molist, Aniss El Hamouri, Felix Laurent, Exaheva, Aurelie Wilmet, Rebecca Rosen, Stephane de Groef and Mathilde Van Gheluwe. Each author edited a comic strip with alternative comics publishers.

Star Wars - 501st FanWars Garrison South Belgium

Welcome to a galaxy far, far away. FanWars and its garrison of empire soldiers accompanies you through a decor filled with a 6m AT-AT and a giant BB8 balloon, both well-known to Star Wars fans around the world.

Korean Webtoons - The Korean Cultural Center

What is a Webtoon? They're digital comics which are loved by Koreans. Discover this new trend thanks to the Korean Cultural Center in Brussels.

L'Eleve Ducobu (Zidrou et Godi / Le Lombard)

It's the perfect opportunity (or not) to go back to school. Ducobu, the nation's favourite dunce, welcomes you to his classroom and gives you some tips on how to cheat. You never know, they could come in handy...

Gaston (Franquin / Dupuis)

At a time when teleworking is in vogue, discover the unlikely office of Gaston Lagaffe and his zany inventions. But how does he ever get any work done?

The giant balloons and Billy and Buddy's 2CV

Your comic strip stroll is accompanied by about fifteen giant balloons distributed all along the route. You'll find the stars of the Balloon Parade floating in the heart of the majestic Gare Maritime at Tour & Taxis.
