PS Waverley Comes to Fowey
The PS Waverley is the world's last seagoing paddle steamer, renowned for its historical significance and maritime heritage. Built in 1946 by A. & J. Inglis of Glasgow, the Waverley was originally intended to replace an earlier ship of the same name that was sunk during World War II. The vessel was designed to serve as a passenger excursion steamer on the Firth of Clyde in Scotland, a role it fulfilled for many years.
The Waverley is famous for its distinctive features, including two large paddle wheels powered by a triple-expansion steam engine, which is visible to passengers through an open gallery. Over the decades, the ship has undergone several restorations, the most significant being in the early 2000s when it was returned to its original 1940s condition.
Today, the PS Waverley operates as a tourist attraction, offering cruises along the coasts of the UK, including the Firth of Clyde, the Thames, and the Bristol Channel. It holds a special place in maritime history, not only as a unique example of early 20th-century shipbuilding but also as a cherished symbol of Britain's seafaring tradition, drawing enthusiasts from around the world.

This is yesterdays photo edited. I had always intended to remove the bread (see original in Comments) with Content Aware Fill but had so many photos from that week that I hadn't gotten around to it. So, I finally did it just now.
I know you can still see that it doesn't quite match under the bread (where it used to be) if you know what to look for, but I am okay with that; it doesn't seem major enough to me to be worth bothering about.
