Lake Placid in upstate New York is known for hosting the Winter Olympics twice (1932 and 1980) and "The Miracle on Ice" when the US Men's Hockey team overcame great obstacles and won the gold metal. However, to New Yorkers it is also a summer retreat with magnificent lakes and fabulous lake homes. Among all the mansions on the water I spotted this exceptional smaller cabin and beautiful boat house where I could mentally see tranquil days and relaxing on the dock. It is a beautiful site.
