This was one of two electric Edison clocks that the Hotel had. The first one is located in the College's Security Guard Office, formerly the check-in desk. This was the second located in the center of the fireplace mantle of the ladies parlor. This one is no longer working, and was going to be fixed when the College found that the clock was actually made on a rare, large slab of white onyx. The College decided that the fireplace was more valuable intact rather than the price of possibly destroying both the clock and onyx. The plaster creating the reliefs around the clock is Italian white plaster.
