Finally! I have spent hours at the edge of a pond in waders trying in vain to capture a male Comet Darner - they are crafty! Comet Darners seem more wary than most dragons - and they will consistently evade your exact location while patrolling. I was able to snag this one after wading into the center of this pond. His mistake was spending too much time harassing the smaller Green Darners.

A little thread of beach somewhere in the Hamptons. Possibly the ugliest beach I've ever been to (including Folley Beach and the Isle of Palms in SC); it looked like a crab battlefield (there were bits and pieces of them strewn all over). But I really just wanted to hear the ocean and breathe in the salty air for a few moments. I truly miss it being in the horribly landlocked state (who'd have guessed). And they were kind enough to oblige me.

My dear SO Andy was kind enough to model this new wrap. The shawl pin is actually a hair accessory that my mom got me as a gift from Ireland many years ago. No way would it ever even fit a fraction of my hair, and our former dog (may he frolic in doggy heaven forever) had chewed the stick part, but I sanded it down with an emery board and it seems to do the trick. I'm keeping this by my computer which is next to a drafty window. Keeps out the chill!
