The end of a very wet day at the Eden Project, Bodelva, near St Austell, Cornwall saw the skies begin to clear, the sun peep through and a rainbow form above the biomes. Panorama stiched together from several shots taken at the same time.

a dramatic global garden housed in tropical biomes that nestle in a 50 metre deep crater the size of 30 football pitches, forming the centrepiece of a spectacular global garden. the size of 30 football pitches.

Villa Eden is a fully renovated Scandinavian house from the 1930's. All architectural features from the period are kept, but some modern solutions are added. The flat roof has a wind turbine, solar panel and a water heater. In addition to being a highly energy efficient property it also offers an overly eco friendly lifestyle to its inhabitants. Bees, chickens, fruit growing and composting should keep them busy it their spare time.

The model is made for Megan Rothrock's new LEGO Adventure Book, the third in the series.

Eden Mill was used in two eras, it had pulley power distibution originally and then went electric with a big generator. Some parts were abandoned when the change was made.

New Eden is just up the road a ways

A few days ago whilst scanning the photo collection belonging a friend, I came across a badly damaged Plaxton works picture. I had a pop at restoring most of the damage, but then the urge to colourise the old B&W overcame me.

TUP 189E was a Bedford VAM with Plaxton's 'Derwent' bodywork which was delivered new (as here) to Bishop Auckland area independent 'The Eden'. I don't know how long the operator continued to buy 'lightweight' buses, but the recollection from my youth is of similarly bodied Leyland Leopards.
