We were happy we could take my wife's mother to Switzerland, she really wanted to see the Matterhorn.
(2003)
He'll be thrilled, ecstatic. This is what he's wanted since he was born, for us to be at peace with the surface world.
I make my way to his room, the door is shut. I open it slowly.
Arthur - A.J? Wake up I have big news! Great news!
I flick on the lights then turn my head to…
I stare at my son, covered in blood. His fingers broken off, teeth pulled out, one of his eyes hanging out of its socket.
??? - Sound sleeper isn't he?
I look up to see man with a glowing red eyes speak to me.
??? - The poor boy screamed for his daddy to save him, but the device on the wall drained out all sound. Don't be mad, I made sure I took good care of him.
I charge at him with tears draining from my eyes but he blasts me back with rays coming from his eyes. I get back up and try and punch him but he grabs wrist. He headbutts me.
??? - You took my father away from me, so I took his father from him.
Arthur - Who… are… you?
He raises his right arm to the air and extends a blade from it.
Black Manta - You'll remember me as the Black Manta!
He slashes his blade across my wrist, cutting my hand clean off.
Arthur - Aggggghaggggh!
He let's go of my wrist letting me fall to my knees. Murk and Orm burst through the door. Murk looks at me, then A.J, then charges Manta. Manta blasts him into Orm, then blows a hole in the wall. He turns around and salutes to me before escaping the palace. I look at A.J’s body before passing out unconscious.
I wake up in a hospital bed in the medical center. I look around, seeing Kaldur watching over me.
Kaldur - My King! He is awake!
Mera and Orm come running Murk soon after.
Mera - Oh god Arthur… our baby, he's gone.
Orm - We will find whoever did this, and they will pay the ultimate price.
Arthur - How… did he… get in…
Murk - We don't know. I've reviewed the security camera footage from the gate and the palace, it's like he was a ghost.
Kaldur - We… are preparing a funeral for A.J. Arthur I am so sorry for your loss.
Arthur - Everyone leave me and my wife.
Everyone but Mera leaves the room. I watch tears run down her face. I raise my arm to hold her hand but, my hand is no longer there. I slam my fist into the wall out of frustration.
Arthur - This is my fault. The man, his name is Black Manta. When I first went to make peace with the UN it was attacked by a man in a black suit name Manta. I killed him on accident, the man that killed our son said that I took his father away from him, so he is taking me from A.J.
Mera - None of this is your fault Arthur, you stopped a murderer. This is just another murderer trying to fulfill his shoes.
At that moment the doors barge open. Hila comes storming in.
Kaldur - They said they wanted a mo…
Hila - Shut up nerd, I'm here to see my sister who just lost her son.
Mera and her hug. She sits down next to her.
Hila - I'm so sorry I couldn't be here sooner, I'm so sorry for your loss.
She places her hand on my wrist.
Hila - If I were here I could've stopped him.
Arthur - No, he was stronger than strong. You could've just been killed, or lost something.
She sits there, holding Mera as she cries. As I feel the pain of regret.

I place the sonar displacement device down in the sand, sending a sonic waves against the radars allowing me to sneak past. Once I am around 100 meters out from the gate, I raise my wrist sending a small dart towards one of the cameras short circuiting all of them in the grid, reprogramming them to be playing a loop.
I swim to the wall and place a device on the floor. It begins to drill a small whole all the way to the palace. I swim into the whole and exit outside of the palace water barrier. I step inside, and use my grapple to get to the ceiling. I active my suction armor and crawl over to the the Prince's room. I drop down and open the door slowly. I place a sound disruptor on the wall, stopping any sound from exiting the room.
Black Manta - Wakey Wakey Junior…
I extend the blade out of my forearm.
Black Manta - We have a lot planned for tonight.
I was heading back downriver from a long day out when I heard the unmistakable sound of a Prothonotary Warbler singing. Very hard to come by now in Howard County even as a migrant. I was ecstatic when I spotted him foraging watched him sing. He flew across the river to the Carroll County side. I believe he is on territory and trying to attract a mate. It's late but I hope he succeeds.

Would be an understatement when I finally got Norfolk Southern train E25 doing some street running in Fayetteville, North Carolina. I was at lunch when I heard the horn and flew over to Hillsboro Street in time to catch it. I didn't have my camera so I pulled this shot from the video...

*Got that feeling that I did something wrong with the last pic tonight, so I decided to re-touch it... again. It's simply amazing how things tend to look like differently on another day.
Also, I was a bit ashamed that I didn't put a frame on it yesterday. Oh well, here I've done all the missing work. I hope so.
This is Aldís again, from this shoot. Makeup by Eva Hrönn. The idea behind the shot was to take a standard beauty headshot, model happy and smiling but be, well, a little f***ed up. Dunno, just thought it would look cool. I like the other "tortured look" shot better, but since this was the original idea, I had to include it.
Most of the time these red-crowned Japanese cranes are pecking the ground for food. But sometimes, without warning, they break out into an ecstatic dance like this one on the northernmost island of Hokkaido, Japan.
Yoga themed shoot in Butler Park, ATX, 18 October 2015.

n. a surge of energy upon catching a glance from someone you like, which scrambles your ungrounded circuits and tempts you to chase after that feeling with a kite and a key.

This is another picture from my recent cabaret evening and was taken just before I "reverted to type" or as I often think of it as the time when life goes from colour back to black and white. The picture is a little grainy but it does show how emotionally charged I can get when enjoying some girl time. I was simply feeling ecstatic.
