This textural, modern bracelet cuff was made by Israeli jewelry designer Dana Hakim Berkovich by cutting diamond shapes into the cardboard. When rounding them into the bracelet shapes she generates a 3D effect - what I thought originally was a woven pattern. Berkovich’s overall technique aims to recycle used materials into beautiful accessories and challenges users to rethink the beautiful and the possible in what we casually throw away. Sanno Park Tower, an iconic high-rise in Tokyo’s Chiyoda district, seamlessly combines sleek, modern architecture with functional design. Completed in 2000, this 44-story building is notable for its sophisticated structural lines and innovative architectural features that highlight Japan's commitment to combining aesthetics with practicality. Designed by renowned architectural firm Mitsubishi Jisho Sekkei, the building is a masterpiece of Japanese urban design, showcasing minimalist yet impactful features that make it stand out in Tokyo's skyline.

One of the building’s unique architectural highlights is the circular glass structure at its entrance, which creates a visually striking focal point. This pavilion-like addition, with its radial design and metal framework, provides a sense of openness and flow that welcomes visitors while maintaining a distinctively modern feel. The glass and steel elements reflect light beautifully, especially on rainy days, adding an element of elegance to the entire structure. The area around Sanno Park Tower is immaculately landscaped, providing a balance between the building’s imposing presence and the surrounding greenery.

Sanno Park Tower serves as a business hub and is home to major companies and government offices, making it a vital part of Tokyo’s economic landscape. The tower's environmentally conscious design incorporates energy-saving technologies and sustainable materials, reflecting Japan's ongoing dedication to eco-friendly construction practices. With its blend of modern aesthetics and thoughtful design, Sanno Park Tower is not just a building; it’s a statement on the future of urban architecture in Tokyo. This landmark appeals to architecture enthusiasts and photographers alike, capturing the spirit of contemporary Japanese design.

Located in the heart of Mission Bay, 1700 Owens Street stands as a sleek example of San Francisco’s modern commercial architecture. This eye-catching building, with its distinct angular glass façade, reflects the tech-driven innovation surrounding it. Designed to maximize natural light and efficiency, the exterior's angular geometry paired with turquoise-tinted glass gives a nod to the city’s maritime heritage, while the robust structural lines evoke a sense of forward-thinking momentum. It’s not just about aesthetics here—this building sits at the intersection of biotechnology and healthcare industries, hosting cutting-edge companies contributing to global advancements.

The building was part of the larger Mission Bay redevelopment, which transitioned from rail yards and warehouses into today’s life science hub. Since its completion in the early 2000s, 1700 Owens has housed a variety of tenants, from biotech startups to established research institutions. With close proximity to UCSF’s Mission Bay campus, it plays a pivotal role in fostering collaboration in the research and medical fields.

But it’s not all work at 1700 Owens. The building’s design also prioritizes sustainability, boasting energy-efficient systems and eco-friendly materials. Its glass curtain walls provide panoramic views of the San Francisco skyline and the Bay, while interior green spaces offer a respite for workers.

Whether you're in the area for business, or just passing by, 1700 Owens Street is a striking example of Mission Bay's rise as a dynamic, urban, and future-facing district.

Norway is a place of endless natural beauty. Incredible fjords, winding small roads, raw tunnels carved through the bedrock and so much more. These images are from summer road trips during 2024.

These images do not utilize AI and are original imagery with no items added or removed (such as errant leaves, pieces of trash, or power lines). What you see is as close to the moment as I experienced it.

A noted entry in Designboom's recent competition Dining in 2015, this eco-friendly takeaway or takeout food packaging is by Israeli designer Tal Marco. The idea is twofold: to keep your food naturally fresh by using a natural food-related item - the banana leaf whose waxy, durable and flexible traits make it perfect for wrapping; and to create a biodegradable package that doesn't contribute to our increasing piles of waste and garbage. This one-of-a-kind table features handREcrafted wood and red mid-century hairpin legs.

This eco-friendly piece was repurposed from existing materials only. The industrial sized spool was found on the sidewalk and the vintage metal legs where purchased from a garage sale.

The wooden spool was sanded, cleaned, conditioned, stained, and then finished with a protective polycrylic.

The rusted hairpins where sanded, cleaned, primed, painted and finished with a gloss enamel.

Cork flooring is the ultimate in ‘eco-chic’ and its style possibilities and eco-benefits are endless. Want the look of marble but can’t stand the coolness? Cork flooring can help achieve that look and many more while remaining warm and pleasant to the touch, even for the bare foot
