The lunar eclipse of 2007 over Halifax (Northern UK)

Came out of the cinema and was wowed by the view overhead, so when I got home I just had to stick the camera out of the bedroom window.

Apologies to anyone with decent lenses as this is rather grainy, but even with full digital zoom I still had to crop the pic to stop it looking like a tiny speck.

Still I'm personally pleased with the results from a compact camera using nothing more technical than a tripod and a 2 second delay before the shutter opened to eliminate shake from pressing the switch.

When's the next eclipse, how long do I have to save up for a top spec camera ;-)
