If you are like me and don't want to bother making many jars to 'leave for later'... why not give this lovely jam a try?

There is no processing... no massive amounts of berries to pick/buy, wash and prepare.

You can have jam in about an hour...

I began with blueberry because I have several bags of frozen berries. Next I want to try strawberries.... or some mixed berries....

It is just 2 or 3 ingredients.

Blueberries

Sugar

Lemon Juice (optional)

Check out this page..

Easy Blueberry Jam

As it mentions in the recipe...no water necessary if you use frozen berries ... but, I did add a bit of lemon juice to cut the sweetness and also..I only used 1/4 cup of sugar. They do say less sugar can affect the consistency of the jam...but, I spooned off a couple tablespoons of the liquid as it cooked and it was great. Surprisingly...the berries stay whole during cooking even if they were frozen ... I thought they would become soft and disappear... but no...so do a bit of mashing if you want less whole berries in your lovely, very delicious jam.

I found this recipe on the Internet and I had to try it. It was so easy to make and it's very tasty. You could use so many different jams in this. I made the Blueberry Chia Seed Jam myself, melted the chocolate, and coated the jam bites. Thanks Everyone. I'm finding all sorts of these easy recipes online.

I've granted permission for my photo to be been used to illustrate the article on Barmbrack in MyCityCuisine . org, a wiki project that aims to become "A Traveler's Guide to Local Cuisine".

A HUGE Thank You to everone for your visits, lovely messages, group invitations and support! I greatly appreciate it :-)

This is a lovely English recipe from a family friend who is from England. You will love it :-> [believe me, the purchased product is a distant relative to this lovely treat that is so simple to make, that there is no excuse not to!]

It’s really important to use very fresh ingredients here!

Claire’s Lemon Curd

3 large juicy lemons, lemon and zest

3 large eggs, beaten

85 g butter in pieces [do not use margarine!]

255 g white castor [granulated] sugar

In a double boiler over very gently simmering water, mix lemon juice, zest and sugar. Add eggs and butter. Cook while stirring with a wooden spoon until mixture thickens [remove from heat as soon as it bubbles slightly]. Do not rush by raising the heat!

Wash small jars in very hot water and dry with clean linen towel. Pour into jars and allow to cool before sealing and refrigerating.

Keeps for three weeks.

A few possible Uses

* a filling in cakes [mixed with whipped cream or marscarpone cheese if you wish]

* a filling for pre-cooked miniature tart shells

* on hot buttered toast

* on pancakes

* on ice cream

* or on whatever you like!

better than nothing

don't forget to wash it !

Grain-Free Blueberry Cobbler

Blueberry Layer:

3 cups organic blueberries, rinsed and drained

2 Tbsp arrowroot powder

3 Tbsp maple syrup

Cobbler layer:

1 cup almond flour

3 Tbsp coconut flour

1/2 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp salt

3 eggs

2 Tbsp maple syrup

1/4 cup milk

1 tsp vanilla

Directions: Preheat oven to 350F.

In an 8x8 baking dish, toss the blueberries with the arrowroot flour. Drizzle with the first amount of maple syrup. Set aside.

In a medium mixing bowl, add all of the cobbler ingredients and mix well with an immersion blender or lots of elbow grease and a wire whisk. Coconut flour tends to clump, be sure to mix well! ( I mixed the dry ingredients before adding the liquid.) Pour evenly over the blueberry mixture (I spooned it as it wasn't liquidy,) and bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until the batter starts to turn a nice golden brown, and the blueberries start to bubble near the edges. (I had a 9" round pan. Didn't see any bubbling and browning was not noticeable_left it in for 45 minutes.)

Serve either warm or cold, with fresh whipped cream. (We enjoyed it without the whipped cream.)

Yummy

Easy to make

Blueberries are good for you!

"Blueberries contain antioxidant anthocyanins and phenols. .. the USDA Human Nutrition Research CEnter on Aging reported that blueberries help protect the vascular and nervous systems, and especially the brain, from free-radical-inducing aging." Julie Daniluk, Meals that Heal Inflammation

"Blueberries...support eye function, and have bacteria-fighting capabilities particularly useful in countering urinary-tract infections. Blueberries are an excellent source of vitamin C and manganese and a good source of vitamin A.

(N.B.) For some allergic individuals, blueberries trigger hives, and swelling of the face, lips, and eyes." Rebecca Wood, the new whole foods encyclopedia

This rascal measured 4” thick...AFTER I smashed it down as much as I could! It was so juicy that I had to have an extra napkin after it was already on the plate just to carry it to the table!

This is the photo you see in the crappy chain burger ads; and then you go in and get a smushed-flat, barely an inch thick lukewarm burger with a squirt of ketchup and a few pickles, some wilted lettuce, and an anemic tomato...if you’re lucky. You can't even taste the onions anymore. And that's their deluxe burger! Served with a side of incompetence and attitude. And that is why I don’t eat crappy chain burgers.

This is about ¾-lb of good ground chuck, seasoned with Lawry’s Season Salt, a little garlic powder, and a bunch of basil. Fried just to the other side of medium, while topped with a slice of provolone cheese. Nestled into an onion hamburger bun that has liberal amounts of mayo, mustard, 3 big tomato slices, 1 big slice of onion, and tons of lettuce.

Good godamighty, ya’ll!

Ate this sumbitch down with a big glass of sugar cookie-flavored eggnog, and then had a big slice of homemade pumpkin pie for dessert.

Lawd! Where’s my Jack and beer? LOL

It don’t get a hell of a lot better than this!

This is the second time in a week I've made this. The first time was when Don came for supper, and next week Micheal is coming to visit. Both Stu and Don said they loved the pudding. I could hear MMMM's whilst they were eating it :) Don said he liked it because it wasn't overly sweet. This pudding has a very interesting taste that Stu said reminded him of Chocoflan that he ate when he was in Amsterdam. I always change some of the ingredients to suit my tastes. Here's the recipe I used, but I doubled it: chocolatecoveredkatie.com/2015/06/25/healthy-chocolate-pu...

These little light bulb vases are as adorable as they are easy to make. You just have to cut off the bottom of an old light bulb and completely empty out the contents. Rinse it well and be careful to remove all metal fillings from inside it. Then just add water and flowers and use something to hold the vase up. Pipe brushes work well as a base.

... two simple salads, that is!

These salads are perfect for making on a hot sunny day to accompany grilled or bar-b-qued meats. They're colourful, delicious, and so simple and quick to make! And, as an added bonus, they're very healthy :-)

I've just posted these two salad recipes under the article of the same name [ie: "Take Two"] on my new EpicureanPiranha.com webzine. You'll also find the recipe for the "Moroccain Inspired Pork Filet".

Handmade gifts are the best kind, particularly when they're edible. Who can resist a homemade oils or vinegar, especially when these gourmet goodies are prettily packaged? This is easy to make, and offering them to friends is much more than a small gesture -- it's a personal one, showing the best sentiments of the season. Potato, Tuna, Bean & Onion Salad with Lime

This is a great little salad to make when you’re in a hurry – it all takes about 12 minutes to prepare! With the addition of fresh lime juice, it’s light and fresh tasting. Perfect for a summer meal, or have a look at the article for other ways of serving.

Freshly posted on [http://www.epicureanpiranha.com/index.php/2010/a-tuna-luncheon-or-side-salad/] :->

This is to help explain how this universal sub-irrigated planter (SIP) design works. Larger views available. Click menu above.

Note that this particular SIP is for indoor use only. This translucent type of plastic will not stand up to outdoor weather and would probably last no more than one season.

See this version using the same construction method for outdoor use.

Also note that there is no overflow drain hole. It is imperative to use a measured amount of water, visually inspect and use a soil probe for accuracy in measuring soil moisture.

Any configuration of recycled plastics will work. An inverted nursery flat and a juice bottle were used in this planter. The objective is that the plastics be of essentially the same height. It could just as well have been made with recycled 1/2 gallon milk or juice containers (square type).

Does this work for you? Your comments and suggestions will be most appreciated.

This very simple design could revolutionize personal food production, particularly in urban environments. It is applicable to any water tight container, including raised beds if lined with sheet plastic.

Sometime in the 1950s.

soooo easy to make and so very tasty.

*1 can black beans drained

*steamed veggies (here carrots & broc)

*1 cup breadcrumbs

*1 egg

*sesame oil

*garlic

*s & p to taste

*chopped red onion to taste

here's what i do:

cook up some carrots and broccoli until tender. cool and then chop into small pieces

drain black beans and add to bowl along with veggies, chopped onion, and garlic,

mash it all up. .i use a tater masher.

Add your egg and mash some more then add oil and other seasonings and breadcrumbs until you like the texture.

shape into flat patties and cook up in a skillet with some olive oil. i like to cook until slightly crunchy on the outside as the patties will have the texture of mashed potatoes and will be very soft.

layer your patty up on a bun of your choice with your favorite burger garnishes and enjoy. we always make sure there is tomato and bbq s\sauce. sooo good!

Old stool -new look, inspired by Hundertwasser and Kandinsky.

I used small wood rounds to cover the top of the stool and I started out with a random design. Just lay wood rounds and stick them on the stool. Once everything was glued down, I used plastic band to cover the edge of my stool just even with the surface of the stool. This is usually recommended to avoid drips of resin from drying to sides of your project. Now you are ready to pour resin over them. When the resin is fully set, carefully begin peeling away the plastic band. After buffing I just coloured the wood rounds with colorful media inks. Voila!

This is an easy, cheap and nourishing winter soup. Delicious too.

Fry a large onion in olive oil. Add 2 cups (American measure) of dried green peas (check no stones and wash beforehand) and 7-8 cups water or stock. Bring to boil and cook for about an hour. Add lemon juice, salt and dried mint to taste. If you like, stir in some creme fraiche before serving.

I ate mine with toasted home made sourdough bread, but would also be nice with croutons.

You found the right instructable! This DIY colored Chalk is perfect for drawing on the sidewalk and it is washable! Drawing on the sidewalk can be very fun, so let's start making our own DIY colored chalk!

You will need: tempera paints, empty wrapping paper rolls, plaster of Paris, baking paper, water, masking tape.

Line the interiors with baking paper, tape the base to seal one end, and set aside. Then, make the plaster mix. Pour plaster in a cup (a little over halfway through), add 2 tbsp of tempera paint. Add water until you get a runny mush. Pour the mixture into the roll with the cardboard base. Leave it to dry in a sunny spot and remove the paper roll. The chalks will be ready when they are fully dry.
