Thanks for all your comments and mails. Some one asked me for a simple stir fry recipe( the Indian way). This is how my mom make stir fry. This is my version of stir fry with plantain. Hope you will enjoy this as my previous recipe shots. If you like it let me know.

 

Raw banana/plantain= 2.(or pottatto)

Green chilli=2

Chilli poweder=1/2t.spoon.

salt to taste.

Turmeric = 1/2 t.spoon.

Oil= 2 Table spoon.

0nion – 1 big onion

Mustard seeds – 1/4 tsp

Curry leaves – 1 tsp

 

1.Take water in a vessel and put some salt and turmeric in this.

 

2.Cut the raw banana into small cubes and put it in water for half an hour.

(If you are using pottatto"s then no need to follow this step) and drain this.

 

4.Heat oil in a wide pan,add mustard seeds and

when it start crackle, , add curry leaves and onion after few miniutes

(put the gas to simmer)

5.Add red chilly powder and sauté well.

6. put the banana into this and mix well with the banana cubes

Keep on stirring for some time you can add very little water.

 

7.Keep a lid on top of it and let it be there till the bananans

cooked. It won"t take too long.

 

8. After some time you can stir it again and make sure it is dry.

Now your stir fry is ready.

 

P.S: This is the way my amma( mom) prepares this dish.It is a dry

dish. 'Mezhukku' means 'oil' in Malayalam and 'Puratti' means 'smear'.

1 container (6 oz) Yoplait® Light Fat Free strawberry yogurt

1/2 cup frozen (thawed) reduced-fat whipped topping

4 strawberries, cut in half

 

DIRECTIONS:

 

1. Place mini paper baking cup in each of 8 mini muffin cups. Spoon slightly less than 2 tablespoons yogurt into each cup.

I needed to make some cookies for work last night, so I made these snickerdoodles. I was literally done baking (and cleaning up) in less than 15 minutes.

  

* 1 (21 ounce) box yellow cake mix

* 2 eggs

* 1/3 cup vegetable oil

* 1 teaspoon vanilla

* 1/3 cup sugar

* 2 teaspoons cinnamon

  

-mix boxed cake mix, oil, vanilla, and 2 eggs

-combine cinnamon & sugar in a separate small bowl

-shape dough into small bowls, rowl into cinnamon/sugar mix

-place on cookie sheets - bake for 6-8 minutes at 350

 

take them out before they look done or they'll burn on the bottom.

 

makes 2 dozen cookies.

Absolutely traditional Russian breakfast! Absolutely amazing taste! Cooking oladi will take no more than 10-15 minutes of your time but they worth every single minute! Nothing can be better on breakfast! Hot, just fried, soft inside and a bit crispy edge! It’s a best breakfast for you and your kids! Serve them with a sour cream, honey, jam or fresh berries and enjoy your breakfast! If you were in Russia and haven’t got a chance to taste Russian oladi – well, I consider you have never been in Russia at all.

dry ingredients

 

1 cup sugar

1 cup flour

1 cup whole-wheat flour

1.5 teaspoon baking soda

0.5 teaspoon salt

 

wet ingredients

 

2 eggs

~4 ripe or over-ripe bananas (red bananas used here)

1 stick melted butter

 

add-ins

 

1 cup fresh cranberries (or raisins, or chopped nuts, or both)

 

mix dry ingredients. add wet ingredients and mix again. gently fold in any add-in type stuff - berries, nuts, etc. pour into a 9x5 breadpan and bake for 75 minutes at 325 degrees, until a knife inserted into the loaf slides out cleanly. out of the oven, cool pan sideways for ~10 minutes and then remove from pan. serve warm with butter and coffee or tea!

A HUGE Crowd Pleaser: (hors' doeuvre for the holidays) Makes about 35-40 balls; ©2012 DianaLee Photo Designs

 

Recipe:

 

1 lb. of sweet italian sausage

1-1/2 cups (to taste) of fresh grated sharp chedder cheese

1 cup of Bisquick

 

Mix the above ingredients together in a mixing bowl with clean hands. Add a little water to moisten into "1 inch round balls"

Place on an un-greased baking sheet and cook at 375 for approximately 20 mins until browned on the outside

 

Dipping Sauce:

 

One 8 oz. jar of Mayo

3/4 jar of Pineapple Preserves

3/4 teaspoon of Curry Powder (add to taste... this is a very key ingredient.. it is amazing)

Mix and chill....

Voila... AMAZING!!!! Everyone loves this!
